Pritish Nandy of PNC Communications has signed VJ Sophie for their next venture.
Though Sophie does not want to divulge details of what the film is about, she lets out the fact that she is playing the role of a modern, trendy singer, "A girl of today who is very bubbly and friendly, cute and great fun but her career means a lot to her.... At one point a guy comes into her life and asks her to give up all her dreams and move to USA and marry her...but her greatest love are music and her career..."
Sounds a lot like Sophie!!! Rumour also has it that Sophie will sing and perform an item number, too, in the film, which is likely to have Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat in the star cast.
Waqt, waqt ki baat
A little birdie tells that Amitabh didn't give time for the patchwork of Family because he wasn't happy with the final product.
Apparently the Big B saw a rough cut in his hospital room and he was very disappointed with his role in the film and the final product.
So he chose not to give any more time to the film than he already had. Let's hope bechara Akshay doesn't get blamed for this fiasco, too. We are tired of those stories!

Pritish Nandy announced the remake of Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam. JP Dutta went ahead with Umrao Jaan.
Farhan Akhtar's busy with his own version of Don, and now it is the turn of producers Rajeev Murthy and Raaj Gandhi to remake of the 1960 classic Chaudhvin Ka Chand.
Anusha Samir Gill will direct the untitled film. Arun Dutt, the only surviving son of the late Guru Dutt is on the advisory panel of the project.
Confirming the news, Anusha says that her film will be a tribute to the greatest filmmaker of all time — Guru Dutt. She also added that the actors to play the immortal roles played by Guru Dutt, Wahida Rehman, Rehman and Johnny Walker are being finalised and the film will go on the floors shortly once the cast and crew are finalised.
Ekta: Designated global leader

The Forum of Young Global Leaders, an affiliate of the World Economic Forum, has named her a Young Global Leader 2006. Ekta is one of the 40 Asians chosen to become the Young Global Leaders (YGL) 2006, joining 175 leading executives, public figures and intellectuals as a part of a global community.
Ekta was judged one of Asia's 50 most influential communicators by Asiaweek magazine in 2001 and the first woman entrepreneur to receive the coveted 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award in India. Dhruv has a lookalike
The character of Dhruv, played by Sachin Shroff, has been missing from the Zee daily Sinndoor-Tere Naam Ka. Last heard he was bumped off in Hong Kong. But now he is back in the thick of things.
"Ever since his exit, the feedback we received was to get him back in the show. Sinndoor is popular in London.
The UK office of Zee was jammed with emails demanding Dhruv to be back in the drama," says producer Kinnari Mehta. But as all soaps go, there is a twist — Sachin is back in the show as a Canada-based business called Karan.
He arrives in Mumbai as he is wanted for some illegal deals. His stark resemblance to Dhruv Raizada proves handy for him — he cashes in on his looks and gains entry to the household. So when will the real Dhruv land up? Wait and watch.
