Saif hated his look in Aarakshan

Priyanka Mundada is one of those talented souls who visualizes and implements these terrific looks. She has styled everybody from Imaad Shah (Dil Dosti Etc) to Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Katrina Kaif (Raajneeti).

Her latest assignment – Aarakshan, is ready for release. Currently working on an untitled Goldie Behl film, she says she would love to style Shah Rukh Khan someday

"So used to branded clothes, he hated the Dalit look"

Looks tried: 2-3

Look: Since he plays a Dalit, we gave him a lot of checked shirts, short kurtas, jackets made out of raw materials, cotton trousers and Bata shoes – which he absolutely hated. Since he is used to wearing branded stuff, he was a little surprised at the choice of clothes, but nevertheless he was very cooperative since he wanted to get the 'look' right.

Experience: Saif's styling was the most challenging because he is the kind of person, no matter what you do, the nawab in him comes to the fore. 😆

We had to do so many 'look' tests for him to make sure he looked like a Dalit. So, we had to modify his skin tone and give him a moustache for a raw image.

Before he wore his clothes, they were washed 10 times to get a faded, dull and well-worn appearance. Since he's a very good actor, he worked really hard to get into the skin of his character – he practised his posture, his walk. Every morning before the shoot, he would sit outside in the sun for 15 minutes to get a tanned, brown look! 😆
