Sources close to the actress say she will be cast in Varma's upcoming film Department which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and RaNa Daggubati.
According to the grapevine Lakshmi was approached by Varma to act in his multi-starrer. An excited Lakshmi is said to have immediately said yes. If all goes as planned then she will be paired opposite the other Tollywood actor in the film RaNa Daggubati.
Initially, Kangana Ranaut was supposed to star opposite RaNa but Varma thought Lakshmi might be an option too. The casting has not been finalised as yet as the age difference between the actors could be an issue.
Another possibility is that Lakshmi might even end up being paired opposite Sanjay Dutt.
When asked about her role in Department, the actress refused to comment saying, "I do not want to comment on this right now because I am yet to sign any Bollywood film. I will make an announcement when everything is finalised."
Lakshmi is not the only one who is looking to act in Hindi films.
If everything falls into place, Allu Arjun will be making his Bollywood debut too with Yash Raj Productions.
The actor, who is basking in the success of Badrinath, has received an offer from the prestigious B-town banner and is thinking of meeting the producers and having a serious talk with them.
"Yash Raj productions have offered to launch Allu Arjun in Bollywood with a big-ticket entertainer. The actor is also interested and wants to discuss the offer," says a source close to the superstar, adding, "Although he is tied up with four T-town offers at the moment, he'll squeeze some time out to meet the B-town producer and if he is fully satisfied, he'll make his decision."
