Sonam, the original choice for Mausam!

By now, everyone knows that Mausam was written keeping Shahid Kapoor in mind.

But director Pankaj Kapoor has revealed that Sonam Kapoor, too, was his original choice to play the female lead. In fact, so convinced was he of Sonam fitting the part, that he refused to even consider any other actress for the role.

"Yes, Shahid being in the film was a foregone conclusion since the film was designed with him in mind. But Sonam, too, was the first actress approached and signed for the film," says the revered actor-director.

Expressing the belief he had in Sonam's ability to carry off the role, he adds, "I am sure the audience will be surprised by the range of emotions expressed by Sonam."

With a vote of confidence like this one, we're sure Sonam will.
