Warsi, who made his debut under Amitabh Bachchan's production company ABCL's Tere Mere Sapne in 1996, was unable to make a mark for himself till Raju Hirani's Munnabhai MBBS came to give a boost to his fledging career.
"If one looks (only) at a role forget the character of Circuit and just look at that person...he is just a stupid role...there is nothing. He is a goon, side kick...he is someone who stands behind the hero. If that film wouldn't have worked, I would have been finished...over," Warsi told PTI.
"It was Raju's (Hirani) sheer talent of being a good director that's it. He is really talented, he works hard. He works for two-and-half years on a script," he said.
"I feel luck does play a huge factor role in your life. I feel luck comes first and then talent. There are so many talented actors who are definitely lacking luck and there are many mediocre actors who are really lucky. I am surviving on pure talent. I would be wrong if I say I am not been lucky...I have been lucky. Luck quotient has been tiny. I wish it was more," he added.
Munnabhai series follows the comic adventures of Munna Bhai or Murli Prasad Sharma played by Sanjay Dutt and his sidekick, Circuit or Cirkeshwar, essayed by Warsi.
The actor will be seen along with Dutt in the third film of the Munna Bhai series - Munnabhai Chale Amerika -- after Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) andLage Raho Munna Bhai (2006).
The third film, which deals with the adventures of the two protagonists in America, is expected to release in 2012.
