😕 Ok, after reading that Akshay's upcoming ROWDY RATHORE is a copy of a Telugu action film, it makes one wonder. Why are Bollywood directors copying SOUTHERN films?!! First, it was the Hollywood obsession! Obviously, directors in Bollywood keep running out of ideas. Are SOUTHERN films more original, creative, and exciting?! Salman Khan's DABANNG was a remake of a southern film and look at what the response was! Same goes with Aamir Khan's GHAJINI. Do you think Bollywood directors should stop copying SOUTHERN films or keep doing it? Please share your thoughts! 😲

COPY and REMAKE are different terms... don't give REMAKE a COPY label...

Dabangg is not a South Remake... infact Dabangg is Remade in South... hve a look 😆

Simbu stars in remake of Salman's 'Dabangg'

The mahurat of the film saw Arbaaz Khan flying to Chennai

The mahurat of Simbu's next titled Osthi which is a remake of Salman Khan's Dabanggwas held in AVM Studios recently. The film stars STR playing a cop for the first time, taking the role of the original Chulbul Pandey, played by Salman.

Richa Gangopadhyay of Leader fame plays Simbu's love interest. Produced by Balaji Real Media and Mohan Apparao, the movie is directed by Dharani. While Revathy will reprise the role of STR's mother which was played by Dimple Kapadia in Hindi, Jitthan Ramesh will essay Simbu's brother which was originally done by Arbaaz Khan.

Speaking at the press meet, STR said, "I am growing my moustache for the role. I am working on my body for that tough look. I am a great fan of Salman and I watched Dabangg many times." A surprise visitor on the occasion was Arbaaz Khan who flew to Chennai for this purpose.

I think bollywood - kollywood - tollywood and mollywood (hindi, tamil, telugu, malayalam) movies are all always remaking from each other and taking inspiration from each other.

Tamil movies started the choreographed dance trend, telugu movies started the gangster/political trend, mallu movies the psychological-drama style and hindi movies the glamor, the romance and the sparkle. Nowadays all these types of movies are made in all these industries but movies still get re-made or dubbed if it seems like it will appeal to more than just 1 state.

The same can be said for Bengali movies as well, these are probably the top 5 film industries in India in terms of budget - audience - output etc.

It is also really stupid to just group together all south indian movie industries into 1. the tamil industry is as different to the telugu industry as it is from hindi. there are simularities in all, and differences as well.

dabangg wasnt a remake of a south film...it was a "south film" style kinda film...where therz lots of masala, ridiculously fun action, foot tapping songs, demigod ish hero...etc...

i enjoy watching south masala films because there are unprententious, fun, honest and provide gr8 entertainment. I dunt mind remakes as long as they dunt ruin the original for me...like wanted and ghajini did...the south versions were infinitely better...

Ive seen Rowdy rathod's original version vikramarkudu and had a blast (nevermind the loudness and a bit of vulgarity)...

im glad akki's doing action coz i think he owns that genre...

we dunt see a lot of action movies in bollywood these days anywayz...so any dishoom dishoom is a welcome change for me.

Yes, thank you!
I hate it when people say something is a copy when it's actually remake or version.
I'm too lazy to make references but...

FYI,
Remake = Something in remade form, the act of making again or anew.
Copy = To follow as a pattern or imitate, duplicate. In other words, an imitation of an original.

P.S. I'm not targeting you~

dabangg's theme was lifted off from Saamy..
but i think its nothing wrongin remaking a movie... there was a time when everybody wanted the matrix type action but i guess that era is gone.. its now the time of masala punch dialogues, peppy numbers like the early 80's etc..
i love all masala tamil/telugu movies the actors do it with such perfection..
and yes Vikramrkudu was good maybe becuz i like Ravi Teja.. his movies are always entertaining..😆
