I seriously could care less about who works with whom as long as they keep making good films. when I mean good, I mean different. not the same crap. lol

you know what i think though... i think that there are a lot of other successful directors and 'brands', who are responsible for other actors success as well... nobody 'made' their career on their own...! 😛😛😛 aamir had a huge break, thanks to his family ties... and used it again, after giving a string of flops, with jo jeeta wohi sikander... 😛😛😛😛 srk is a complete outsider, though aziz mirza had a bigger hand in his success in the earlier years, before yrf/kjo came into the picture...! 😉😛😛 salman worked with rajshree productions, who were a big name back then... but yes, he has worked with a lot of outside directors and smaller names in his earlier years, something that can't be said about srk or aamir, for that matter...! 😛😛😛

Sure, you can enquire! 😆 Aish only had a cameo in Mohabbatein, but I guess a hit is a hit, right?! Dhoom 2 brought Aish back into the limelight, but she also had other banners after that - Mani Ratnam's Guru, Ashtoush Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar, RGV's Sarkar Raaj. Yes, I do not deny that Aish has worked with most of the big names in her career. But, most of her career is owed to Bhansali and those two hits she had with SRK and Salman respectively, Devdas and HDDCS. However, Katrina's upcoming films are all with Yash Raj (her next with Imran Khan, Shahrukh Khan, and Salman Khan). She does not have any other banner lined up except the Zoya Akhtar film with Hritik. So, in a way, she is limiting her potential (but, did she really have any? 😆).

But my point is that Katrina was already a big name herself before she did YRF's New York. If anything, YRF wanted her because of her hits from films like Welcome, Singh Is King, Partner, Race, etc. Isn't that actually the point of your original post?...which people made it big without YRF/KJo?

Yes and I never mentioned Kat to begin with in the original post! She always seems to become a point of discussion! 😲 And yes, Kat did make it big without YRF/KJo and it is ironic that she is working with them now!

Excellent post 👏 👏 👏 Nobody is completed self made (it's not possible in a film industry). If not Yash Raj...there was a Rajshri...Bansali...Ashutosh etc.

Is there any thing wrong in working with a reputed production house...Would Salman or Aamir in their initial days have refused working with Yashraj?

Whatever people say till now none of the khans have a fan following like SRK does...not only in India but internationally also the two name people always people mention when we say bollywood is Amitabh and SRK 👏

Ash, Priyanka, Salman, Bipasha have done films with Karan and YRF but I agree their fame, success hasn't been defined by just those films. I wouldn't say I respect them more for that. I admit of late YRF hasn't made good films but in the past, they were well known for many blockbusters in Bollywood and celebs considered it an honor to work with a big banner like YRF.

it doesnt matter to me whose movie it is.. johar/chopra or non johar/chopra.. there r movie of j/c that i enjoy watching and there r some i don't. i like actors/actress based on their acting/personality. I respect johar/chopra as much as the others. there are many actors actress who haven't work with j/c but i still love watching their acting and i think they r more worth watching then some of the biggest star we have today.

No Doubt Rajshri productions was a big name before Maine Pyaar Kiya happened... but not that much big... as coz of SALMAN KHAN only... RajShri Productions got Bigger Value

SRK need YRF 2 make Big == Salman Didn't need Barjatiyas...

After Hum Saath Saath Hai, Only they have managed 1 Superhit movie "VIVAH" to their credit... But Salman has given more bigger hits...

The kind of Directors Salman worked with were mostly newcomers or were rejected by others like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Deepak shivdasani, Lawrence D'Souza, Abhinav Kashyap, even some South directors

@others, Preity Zinta did make it big without the chopras and johars! It was later they ask her to work with them. Also, she had Koi mil gaya w/Hrithik Roshan(Roshan production) and Dil chata hai w/Aamir (akhtar's movie) which were huge hits and these prior to having done Kal ho na . Only, thing is Kal ho na ho got her the best actress award so people associate that has her biggest blockbuster. Veer-Zaara came much later!Also her debut dil se got her recognized and best debut award, then solider , mission kissmior, etc were massively loved. It was the above mentioned movies that got her known that Johar/YR productions took notice ! So she was already established prior to joining this camp!😊

Otherwise only really Salman is big without these banners as an actor. Whereas most actreeses have worked with the banner but many actresses were big prior to YR casting them!
