Abhinav Kashyap has walked out of Dabangg 2 and Arbaaz Khan is all set to direct the film early next year. However B-town is abuzz that Abhinav walked out of Dabangg 2 as he will be making a film with SRK.

He's not with Viacom 18

When asked if he was doing a film with Viacom 18, Abhinav said, "No. I am still in the process of writing a story. I am definitely negotiating with several people and an announcement will be made when everything is ready."

But why walk out of Dabangg 2 when everything was in place? "I have a commitment to make a film, first to myself than to anyone else.

The Dabangg brand is very well established and if Dabangg 2 worked, then I would have to make Dabangg 3 and so on. But if it fails, then you would all write that I was a one-film wonder.

I wanted to do something that will help me in my career. It is also about me and not only about Dabangg. Arbaaz knows the film inside out. I am sure he will do a great job."

An SMS created the rift

But was it appropriate to send just an SMS to Arbaaz and opt out of the film? Abhinav said, "How does it matter? We did speak after that and I am sure he must have felt bad. But I wanted to move on.

I guess he understood and this has happened sometime back. Arbaaz might have waited and decided that he would direct the film and that's when he spoke to you. But we are fine.

SRK is the reason

So is SRK the reason behind you walking out? Abhinav said, "There is no film with SRK and there are no hush-hush meetings.

SRK was kind enough to meet me through a common friend. However, the meeting happened in October and after that I have not met him.

He loved Dabangg and complimented me. If I write a script which suits SRK and if he likes it, he may do it. At the moment I shot three ad films with Aamir and why is no one asking me about that?"

But Arbaaz is upset with you walking out on Dabangg 2? Abhinav said, "Dabangg itna bada brand hai, so it's okay for him to be upset.

I didn't know that he would be upset. It took me 5-6 months to decide that I won't do Dabangg 2. I have told Arbaaz that when Dabangg 2 releases, mein front row mein baith kar seetee bajayunga."

Was the walking out due to creative differences between Arbaaz, Salman and you? Abhinav said, "I don't know what creative differences are. Just because we have a healthy debate over a scene does not mean that hum log dushman hai."

But people in general think that walking out on Dabangg 2 can turn out to be a wrong decision? Abhinav said, "People can say what they want to. They didn't even know that I existed before Dabangg."

So what are you working on now? "It is too premature to talk about. Making a film is a fairly long process. As of now mujhe jeene diya jaye."
