Why is DDLJ still so popular and going strong?! - Page 3

DDLJ is a pretty good film. Sure, if one saw it today they may go, but it's just like any love story, but when it came out initially in '95 it was one of a kind. Like someone mentioned, it was one of the first rom-coms to release and it set a standard for films to come. I think that's SRK-Kajol's best film together as well. They had awesome chemistry in that film, both acted well, the music was great and it had a nice storyline. As far as why it's still running today..well, like I said this film is a known as a standard for all romantic films/rom-coms etc...if you ask anyone what their fav romantic, bw film is...chances are they'll say DDLJ. Thus, people still don't mind seeing this film in the theaters and it's still running. I wouldn't go and see it in the theaters in today's time even though I love the film, but guess a lot of others would.

Honestly I have no idea....I got sick of the movie after I saw it for the fifth time😆

I know people from the States who go to India and make it a point to go and see DDLJ in the cinema so that's pretty darn good.

I loved DDLJ at that time. It was so good but i am bored of that movie now🥱 And why do people bother themselves to go to the theatre when they can easily watch it on television?😲

Did not like it the first time, don't like it now. Both Srk and Kajol hammed their way to glory. Only Amrish Puri was tolerable.

I think it worked and still is popular because it is the ultimate love story.....every bollywood movie/tv show after that compares their story to Raj and Simran's

yeah its way OTT and cheesy but again its a good watch....I never miss it when it comes on tv...and the songs are splendid of course
