Why is DDLJ still so popular and going strong?!

😕 A recent article came out about DDLJ still being the longest-running Hindi film of all time. We all loved it because of SRK and the cheesy predictable plot. Of course the SRK-Kajol jodi will remain the test of time. A source commented from www.digitalspy.com as follows, "DDLJ keeps getting better; it is like old wine. The magic of this evergreen romance keeps pulling audiences to Maratha Mandir." Yash Chopra is going to celebrate the 800th week anniversary of the production either at the Maratha Mandir or in a five-star Mumbai hotel.

A film that came out over 15 years ago is still so popular and going strong! Why is this the case? Are we fools or just loved the film because of SRK and its cheesy appeal?

Come on IF members, I would love to know everyone's take on this please! 😆

Because it's a good film! I never get tired of watching DDLJ to this day! Yes it cheezy, but I still love it! And plus SRK and kajol are one of my favorite actors...so just watching them onscreen is a treat.

i think its going cuz there not removing it from the theatre and im guessing the tickets are cheap so ppl just go watch it

because it was bollywood's first ever true blue rom com....actually, india's first ever rom com i think...it set the standard for every other rom com...

for the time period it was released in, it was a gr8 film..now..maybe not so much...but not too bad either..

namoonas?! LOL. 🤣 I would love to know just as much as you! Yes, there was an article from www.digitalspy.com saying the shows for DDLJ were still houseful at Maratha Mandir!

I think it was a good film back at the time it released. To have a film play in theatres 15 years later is way to much for me to digest! 😆 I guess old is gold, right?!

btw...his movie with murgadoss is coming soon...in april...7 aam arivu or something...
