Lately all we've been getting is remakes and sequels.

Some examples...

Golmaal series

Seeta Aur Geeta Remake

Dostana 2

Agneepath Remake

Don 2

etc

(You can give more examples too!)

Do you think Bollywood is running out of ideas?

its not like sequels aren't made up of new ideas but yeah there's an overdose of sequels these days. They aren't out of ideas, it's just that those films became successful so they think the sequels will be the same. It's all business.

I agree with you but why not start a new story rather than carry on with the original?

Another one that comes to mind is Dhoom series!

cuz they arent sure if the movies wid new ideas will work or not. Dhoom 1 & 2 both were big hits, it makes it obvious dhoom 3 will be a big hit too.

If the first doesn't do well they definitely don't make a sequel...but do they remake it even if it didn't do well?

How is making Dhoom 3 and Don 2 or Golmaal 3 or OUATIM 2 running out of ideas? They are just making another one, because the previous one was a hit! Its not like they don't have original ideas in there!

But with the remakes of old films like Angeepath or and Don I guess, and Seeta or Geeta...yes bollywood is running of ideas

Why don't they start something new rather than naming it the second or third?
