I am not India Indian, but South African Indian and don't believe that an award given outside of India to an Indian is a bigger award than any given within India. I also believe that there are more talented music directors than A R Rehman, one to mind is Iliaraja from the South and R D Burman. There are many more.
Having said that I have to admit that ARR is a genius and he is destined to have his talent recognised world wide and nobody can take that away from him, not even bitter spite from an oldie.
Out of curiosity, has Abhijeet ever sung for ARR? Or does ARR only have a preference for Bhikaris and not those with magical voices....😭😉 and a past and no future????

i agree there are better music directors than Rahaman....ilayaraja and RD burman and perfect examples....even rahaman winning the oscar for slumdog millionare is not considered fair, because rahaman has given far far superior works in the past...roja, dil se, minsara kanavu, lagaan, swades all had much better music than SM....but i think since SM was more exposed and hyped, it was given the oscar....

either way...he deserves the academy award definitely, but not for SM...for all his previous works which is some of the most memorable music ive ever heard....and yes...ilayaraja and rd burman's music was underexposed aswell, which was why it was never nominated by the academy...nevertheless, all the three are in a different league altogether compared to their competition...the only other music director whom i can see achieving a similar status is amit trivedi...

This guys is DELUSIONAL!!!!!!!! [Or maybe he's on drugs]
Iam a hard core music buff and Iam capable of naming plenty of movies in which Rehman's music was outstanding. My personal favs aside from Roja n Bombay are Taal and Dil Se. What a retard he is for thinking that aam janta doesnt appreciate and remember all the movies that Rehman's lended his music to aside from the award winning ones!
Abhijeet is just despo for attention and thats why he's making such lame comments.

The man has astounding arrogance, and I thought that the talent of music is supposed to be treated and accepted as a gift from the Gods and ought to be humbling. He also has no respect of his fellow colleagues.
Would never hear Lataji or Ashaji or Mahendra Kapoorji speak in such manner - all self praise and loathing for fellow musicians. Is this how he trained the children in his group at the talent show?

Um......I seriously can't remember any Abhijeet song apart from "I Am the Best" from Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani 😕 (What an apt song for him!!)

Can anyone remind me of the "everlasting" songs of music legend Abhijeet??
