This has nothing to do with what Grover said, nor does it have anything to do with being all obsessed with fair skin bla blah etc, but with all honesty...Frieda Pinto is pretty average looking.

I don't know why Gulshan's so over-defensive assuming that the US reporters are grilling him about Freida's looks? They could have been asking about her in the overall sense. Leave it to Gulshan to have a one-track mind about females.

I don't find Freida to be good-looking at all and I will freely admit it. I do however think she's a good actress, much better than the ones we have in Bollywood. That's where Hollywood difers with Bollywood. They have much more consideration to an actress' other traits than looks alone. In Bollywood if you're gorgeous but lack any talent, you can still make it very far (think Katrina Kaif) The roles of actresses in Hollywood and Bollywood also difer in that, in HW they represent a dynamic individual whereas in BW they're just ornaments. Many gorgeous SEXY girls in HW get side-lined for girls with great acting skills (opposite of BW).

^^ Megan Fox can atleast speak/understand English, the language of the movie industry she's working in. She's hardly considered a top actress (her movie Jennifer's body flopped). I don't see her in many movies these days. Her claim to fame was through Transformer (a franchise movie) and her stupid "sex goddess" persona. Sure action movie directors would jump at the chance to have her in their movies (their main target are adolescent boys) but I doubt other directors would do the same.

Yes Freida has a lot going for her. I think she's a breath of fresh air. I also am enjoying the fact that many BW actresses probably have their panties in a bunch trying to figure out how an "average" Indian girl made it in Hollywood. To this day, there's no notable south-asians having this much acclaim in HW.

I have to disagree with you here.Freida is more popular in west mainly because of her looks.If not how come she appears on almost all the most beautiful and sexiest women list.She is currently the only south asian to represent l'oreal in america and other latin countries.I don't think a cosmetic giant like l'oreal would choose an "average girl" as there brand ambassador when they can easily get any top actress or model to endorse there brand.She was also recently voted as best choice for next bond girl beating the likes of megan fox,jessica alba and zoe saldana in a poll by People Magazine.
