Gulshan Grover,who turned down Irrfan Khan's role in Slumdog Millionaire to do Hurman Baweja's Victory, was further enlightened on cinematic matters when he was recently in Los Angeles. During a discussion on apni Freida Pinto, Gulshan blundered when he shrugged her off with a casual, "She's okay." The goras immediately piled on to him and asked him, "Are you all right, man? How can you call Freida okay? She's hot, man, she's so sexy!"

A sheepish Gulshan explains, "We have so many Goan girls here who look like Freida that we tend to take them casually."

If Aishwarya Rai never generated that kind of excitement in the West it's simply because the fair, light-eyed variety of beauty that we worship in India is a dime a dozen in Hollywood. But the dark and sensuous Freida is an exotic rarity. Seriously, Arshad Warsi's wife, Maria Goretti, would sizzle like a Bond girl if only she'd agree to go West for a career.

I do agree that its not necessary to be fair to be beautiful, I mean there are soo many actresses who inspite of not being fair look really hot & beautiful. But Freida is average looking.

If Freida is okay, what would Gulshan rate himself?

Well I kinda agree with him, Freida is not out of this world gorgeous, she is average looking!
Deepika, Katrina, Sonakshi and ofcourse Ash are way more gorgeous.

She is a beautiful girl and knows how to present her self. She is having a great personality and definitely maintains her image well.

The article nailed it...we worship light-skinned, wide-multicolored-eyed beauties...that's why all our Bolly actresses except for Aish and hazel-eyed Rani wear color contacts. And then they're all also 5'7" or taller (except for again Rani😆).

I used to think Freida was average until the West got obsessed about her....then I realized how brainwashed I had become with following our stupid ideals of beauty that we're so willing to put down someone who isn't as exotic onscreen.

She's a simple beauty but she is beautiful😛 And the West also likes her because she's not as controversial as Miley😆
