Yes. I am so busy with shows, appearances and award functions. I was never so busy in my life ever before.

Was it tough getting your first break?

Don't even ask. I struggled in the pre-recession period and the post-recession as well. In the pre-recession time, I used to get four offers a week and kuch nahin hua. Then in the post-recession period, I used to get one offer in four months, which again was as bad. I even questioned myself if I had taken the right decision to aspire to become an actor.

Weren't you apprehensive of your film, given YRF's recent record of Box-Office duds?

I was aware of that but it didn't bother me.

Rumour has it that your dad invested a lot of money in Band Baaja Baaraat…

(Interrupts) And it was terrible to hear that. My dad and I were very upset for many days. My dad was not doing too well professionally when Band Baaja Baaraathappened. So where is the question of investing money? And do you think that a top production house like Yash Raj Films needs this money? If YRF signed me, it can't be because mere baap ne paise diye.

And now you will consult the YRF scion Aditya Chopra on everything in your career?

Well, Aditya Sir has told me to trust my own instincts. We both believe that I should be responsible for my mistakes, if any. But yes, he shall always be there for me. That way, I have a three-film contract with YRF, but it doesn't have a clause for exclusivity.

Your kiss with Anushka Sharma in the film is touted as the longest onscreen one in Indian cinema so far…

Is it? Well, it was done very mechanically. I don't think it is the longest one in Bollywood.

But the kiss did ignite a great personal chemistry between Anushka and you, right?

Oh no. It didn't. She is a very attractive girl no doubt, but we only have a great professional chemistry. Yes, I love her company and I won't deny that. But I am not dating her. I am single. I have never been in a serious relationship till now.

You have caught the fancy of a lot of girls after Band Baaja…

Band baj gayi hai (laughs). Yeah. I was almost molested at an award function recently. Six girls pounced on me and bit my ears and pinched my a**. It was very, very embarrassing.

Have you signed anything new?

No, nothing new. Last month I read a few scripts, but I didn't find them very exciting. This month I have got some offers. Let's see how it goes.
