Watch out for the Salman Khan factor

Though discussed only in hushed whispers, this is one of B-Town's urban legends that Salman's detractors make sure never runs out of steam.

Sample this: Bhagyashree whose debut with Salman in Maine Pyaar Kiya continues to be counted as one of the biggest hits in Bollywood history failed to make her mark as an actor despite several attempts.

Before that, Salman's co-star in their debut film Biwi Ho To Aisi, Renu Arya's career too met with a similar fate, as did that of his Sanam Bewafa debutant co-star Chandni.

While Revathi (Love) and Nagma (Baaghi) continued to be big names in the South, the two could never reach the pinnacle of success that was expected of them.

Hollywood hottie, Ali Larter's Bollywood debut Marigold sank without a trace.

But Tere Naam is another such film that inspite of its hit status could not boost debutant Bhumika Chawla's career in Hindi films, though she made it big down South.

Early this year, Zarine Khan who made her debut with him in Veer and her predecessor Sneha Ullal who made hers in Lucky No Time For Love are still struggling to find a foothold in the industry.

However, industrywallahs also point out that, "Even that one film with Bhai gives them so much popularity that it almost equals that of the other heroines. Besides, Salman also often chooses his heroine based on his emotions. With the exception of Revathi, some of them are non-actors. How can you expect them to become hits on their own?"

And surprisingly his heroines too have only kind words to say of him. One such actor whose career leaves much to be desired says, "I don't believe that Salman's jinxed at all. In fact, it's because of Salman that people still recognize us."

The only actor who managed to escape unscathed by the Salman jinx is actor Raveena Tandon who had made her debut with Salman in Patthar Ke Phool.

And now all eyes are riveted on the film graph of Sonakshi Sinha who's on a film-signing spree ever since her debut with Salman Khan rocked the BO.

By the looks of it, she might just break the Salman jinx too. The rest remains to be seen!
