"Hit Heroine" vs. "Flop Actress"?

In a male dominated industry, rarely there is that Diva that has it all. Gone are the days of Hema Malani and Sridevi. The idea of a complete Superstar Actress ended with Madhuri Dixit. These days all we see are Heriones who are a part of Hit films. There are very few in between that are actual actresses with hit films.

On one side there is the likes of Katrina and Deepika who perfer to remain eye-candy in hit films like Tees Mar Khan and Housefull. On the other side there are actresses like Rani and Aishwarya who continue to ACT in films but don't achieve the blockbusters like Kat and Deeps do. Aishwarya has done an award winning job in Guzaarish and although the film is the best fo the year, it is not a blockbuster.
Either way it is a Win-lose situation. There is no current Sridevi or Madhuri Dixit who consistintly acted and performed Phenomenly in Phenomenly successfull films like Chandni and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun.

Whom do you prefer, a Hit hot Herione (Katrina) or a Flop talented Actress ( Aishwarya Rai Bachchan)?
Which do you think commands more respect in the industry?

Flop actress anyday!! People respect them more and they receieve more acppreciation. They actually make an effort to challenge themselves and work towards improving their acting abilities.

Sooner or later the hit heroines will realise they must prove their TALENT in order to survive. It's sad how #1 is who has the most hits, event hough al they did in the film was a lil jig with the hero. The industry can be so blind to real talent and they only care about box office. Agreed you must be a bankable star, but talent should eb given more recognition.

I don't think Deepika can be called a glam doll. The only film in which she played an arm candy was Housefull. In KCK, LP, BKB, KHJJS, LAK she has prominent roles which are not just the 2 scenes 5 songs.

How about the combination of a 'hit actress', that is what I would prefer. Rani was consecutively giving hits a few years back, so were madhuri and sridevi. They were the complete package. they could act as well as dance around trees. Plus they also give hits. That would be my preference. Aishwarya must have acted well, I have not seen Guzaarish. But i prefer an actress who can carry out all roles with ease. Aishwarya sucks in comedies. so I do not term her as a complete actress!!!

I'd much rather be a recognized flop actress in current times rather than a hit heroine. People look at talent (or rather SHOULD look at talent first). So what if Madhuri, Karisma, Juhi, Sridevi, Rani were actresses of the past. They aren't forgotten at all. At least they have earned a name for themselves. If you have the talent you'll be recognized. I'd much rather have someone appreciate and recognize me for my talent than for my glamor appeal.

So Flop Actress any day! :)

HIT Heroines anyday!! I say throw all the flop heroines in a dump... and say tata bye bye to them... if the people the general junta who doesn't sit on internet boards to get rid of their boredom.. doesn't give a shiz about the flop briagade then why tolerate them.. I say make a rule that one actor can only have a certain number of flops and after that they should be thrown out of the industry.. and new and fresh faces should be given chances.. if this isn't implimented.. then forever we will see 10 generations of bachchans sitting there in bolly.. and harrasing our next generations with their acting.. 🤣... and we will also see yesterday queens like rani.. forever trying to make 1000 comebacks.. after many failed chances (altho i must say i am happy to see her in NOKJ).... but still if this keeps happening.. newer people specially with no connections with the industry will never get a chance.. This is why i appreciate our television industry much more.. coz everyday a new star is born there.. new faces are given a chance instead of recycling the old ones again and again...

How do you justify belittling Katrina when your comparing her to the likes of Aishwarya and Rani who to be fair have also portrayed eye candy roles back in their day? And please if people really liked flop "talented" actresses, then Nandita Das, Konkona etc would be the highest paid actresses for their talent alone.
