As in,real life mein bhi there are break-ups,i'm not saying that. But then most couples in Bollywood split-up so easily!I mean, these days toh when a couple gets together, the first thing people say is.."Lets see how long this lasts!"
For us,seeing a couple together for years and years is nothing special, its meant to be that way.But in Bollywood,if a couple's together for a long time,it becomes something to rave about, because its something so RARE!!!
So why do you think this happens? What's the reason relationships in Bollywood are so transient?

true sakuu, i was gonna make this post but glad you. I love it how much they show they're madly in love but once we see the break up, they move on so easily and fast that they start dating. I wonder if the word 'Love' exists in bollywood at all. Or they do it for limelight, publicity and more attention? Sometimes i feel s0-called couple plan this not to last. that's why theire relationship never goes to the engagement or wedding. Even when they know they both knows each other so well.

Umm, its cuz they have a different definition of the word "dating" than you or me. For them(&most), dating doesn't equal to getting married. Dating equals testing the waters, getting to know each other. During that phase, if you can't get along...whats the use of wasting your time, energy & sanity trying to make things work when there are chances you'll find somebody more compatible, when you are not in a relationship or tied down making things work with a butthead? There's a HUGE difference between simply dating & being married...either doesn't translate into other😊

Great post Sakina!👍🏼

Personally I feel that in Bollywood no one can't be remain single for so long time. They search for a relationship so that they can interact with this industry easily. And the lifestyle of Bollywood actor/actress and the indian culture is totally different. So all can't able to make up their lifestyle with this glamour world. In bollywood movies the actors have to get cozy with their co-stars which is not acceptable in indian culture. Because of this, many actor/actress can't tolerate his/her BF/GF with another actor/actress. And that effects with their personal life, and therefore.....break-up.

My POV!

Totally agree with u here. DATING doesn't always translate to LOVE. Not just Bollywood, in real life too people fall in and out of love all the time. All the freaking time. Some find it hard to move on while others do. Depends upon an individual. Doesnt mean that either one is bad or fake. Yes, in Bollywood (or Holly for that matter) it maybe a play toy for publicity but there's a difference between Dating and Love albeit couples claiming they're in love.

in real life too people date quite a few people and move on if things dont work out. Its just that because these people are celebrities it gets highlighted.
As Okazaki said above dating and being married are two different things. Unfortunately the concept of falling in love once, and that culminating a happy marriage is pretty obsolete.

I would rather people walked out of relationships that dont work than pretend to be happy or put up with their partner's infedilities. I dont believe in the concept of marriage for convenience.

Because in real life people pretend to be happy in marriages for security, kids etc. Well they do in bollywood too Tina Munim, Jaya B, Twinkle Khanna, Karishma Kapoor all fine examples of staying in marriage despite their husbands straying. But the difference is lower percentage of celebrities stay in disastrous relationships compared to aam junta. Why? Because they can. Besides who wants to be monogamous when there are crazy fans and rising starlets and non actors willing to throw at you at the drop of a hat. Celebs stray, normal people stray, its real life. There are no Raj and simrans here. Its just that some people choose to stay in rotten relationships after weighing the pros and cons while some get out. I'd rather people get out and serial date.

Although yet again, I will have to mention how much I adore Sashi Kapoor for his life long love and adulation for his dead wife. Don't think people like him exist and there's nothing wrong with that but hell I sure can respect his stand. 😊

great topic...!
i think there are several reasons...
for many, it's a relationship of convenience... many couples get into a relationship because they have something to gain (apart from the companionship)... then there's the jealousy/insecurity factor... tensions rise also because of the rumours of affairs, etc... fidelity is also an issue... many cheat on their partners, hence the fall out... media does not make things easy... every relationship has it's problems... walking out is not always as simple... but having the constant media speculation usually causes the problems to escalate, in most cases, than solving the issue at hand...!
for many of the actors, it is hard to resist temptation... probably because they tend to be fickle minded.. or who knows what the reason is... but their wives still stick to them and tolerate their infidelity... because they know it's temporary and in many cases, they sacrifice their own self esteem just to keep their family together, or because of the kids... or because they have invested so much in the relationship... there are many reasons... why do many actresses prefer to break other people's home and marry divorced and older guys...? don't think it is love... more because of monetary security and a higher place in the society...!
