Deepika Padukone has clearly moved on and is all set to embark on a new journey. She tentatively reveals her state of mind to Filmfare
Her much-publicised breakup with Ranbir Kapoor hasn't dimmed the laughter in her eyes. And thank God for that! Of course the hot-button topic of discussion is that she's removing her RK tattoo. However, she's quickly refutes the rumour, saying, "Who's telling these things? It never even crossed my mind."
That she's moved on in life is clearly evident. Ranbir Kapoor is history. As we talk about her breakup, she says she didn't go through a bad time as was being reported in the tabloids. "I could have gone through a very bad phase in life then," she states candidly. "I could have let it get to me. It could have completely ruined me, I could have become a total mess. But that didn't happen. Whenever people go through such situations always remember that God also gives you the strength to fight and come out of it. You have to find that strength for yourself. No one can do it for you. Secondly, I was surrounded by beautiful people who helped me out of it. My parents and my friends. When they heard what had happened they actually came and stayed with me for a month. It helped. It's also when Neil came into my life. We were working on Lafangey Parindey and we were doing readings all the time. And there were days when I would just break down. And he was there for me. I don't sit at home and cry. I use the experience to make myself stronger."
And that brings us to the question that has been looming large over the interview. The fact that she has been spotted way too often with Siddharth Mallya. Not a peep from her at the mention of Mallya's name. Clearly she's learnt her lessons. I want to know if she's seeing the Mallya scion. And she laughs, "I like the speculation. People can say what they like. But you're not going to hear anything from me."
Quiz her about the two being sighted all over the city and she replies, "I go out with lots of friends." And if the media is going crazy reporting how Siddharth was spotted at a jewellery show recently, she isn't bothered. "There were several people out there. So why point out one? See, the speculation can go on. I'm not going to stop living my life the way I want to because I'm worried about what the media is going to write. I have a life. I still go out for dinner, I still go for my movies. I am not going to hide. I'm going to live my life the way I want to."
Tell her that the media is abuzz about how he's completely bowled over by her and she grins, "I can't talk about other people." What about her? Is she bowled over by him? "I don't think I've ever lost it." She smiles sweetly. "I'm not saying anything." Sometimes, silence speaks louder than words.
