Akshay and Twinkle come together on big screen after decade in Tees Maar Khan It was way back in 1999 when Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna were paired as a couple in two hardcore action films International Khiladi and Zaalim. They were married after a couple of years and subsequently Twinkle too retired as an actor with Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and Jodi No. 1 being her last two releases in 2001.
However, the pair is now back again for a film and that too as a real life couple. It would be for Tees Maar Khan and the director who has managed to accomplish the 'feat' is Farah Khan. Ok, so before one's imaginations start running wild, here is the real deal. The sequence that has been shot is the mandatory aspect of Farah's films where entire cast and crew members are introduced to the audience.
Informs a source, "It is customary for every cast and crew member, howsoever small he may be in the ranks, to enjoy his moment of glory in Farah's films. It was seen earlier in Main Hoon Naa as well as Om Shanti Om. Something similar happens in Tees Maar Khan too where everyone comes together for this sequence."
Since Twinkle Khanna would be credited as a producer for Tees Maar Khan (Akshay Kumar's 'Hari Om Productions' is producing the film in collaboration with Farah & Shirish's production house 'Three's Company'), it was imperative that she comes out of her hibernation and faces the camera. The shooting for this sequence took place on Saturday with the picturisation taking place on both Twinkle Khanna as well as Akshay Kumar.
"The original idea was to have only Twinkle though", confirms Farah who is supercharged about her third film, "After all she is the producer of the film. But then Akshay being Akshay, he wanted his share of pie as well. So he tried to push his way into the shot which was being canned exclusively for Twinkle. Being a smart lady, she didn't have any of it and pushed him out of the frame. In fact we didn't go for any re-shoot as it has turned out so well and funny. We have retained it as it is."
Farah has a further word of appreciation for Twinkle as well.
"She looks so very beautiful. In fact she looks better than ever with her beauty only enhancing with age", says Farah in obvious admiration of the woman, "I don't know why she has been on a break for a decade now. If she wants, she can walk into a film as a heroine today itself."
Well, if that really happens, it would indeed make huge news for sure. Till then, we would be content with the time that she shares with her hubby on the big screen, albeit (presumably) for a few seconds!
