LOL I'm already setting a disclaimer here that it can turn out to be a very biased post or ending up being a gushing post 😆

What did you think of his debut movie?

To be honest, I haven't seen his debut movie.. Yeah yeah, I'm a very lousy fan, I know! 😆 But duuude, it was released in the year I was born, I didn't start watching movies as soon as I opened my eyes y'know, no matter what a huge Bollywood sucker I am! 😆 But seriously, I have seen bits of his first movie.. and it wasn't very impressive.. 😛 But that was after I had seen his other movies like DDLJ and all.. So naturally, I'm bound to find it bad right!? 😛


How has he grown as an actor?

Okay I'll compare his acting skills now with movies like Chamatkar/Baazigar and King Uncle type movies.. coz there are the earliest movies I can remember of his.. See, he was a good actor even then but pretty raw.. If you compare those movies with movies like Chak De and MNIK, you'll have to admit that he has grown tremendously as an actor.. Even if someone likes him or not, I think they'd have to admit that he did grow a lot when it comes to acting capabilities..


If you like him, when did you first start liking him?

I used to hate SRK initially.. I couldn't tolerate his movies like PBDHH and Baadshah and even KKHH.. I started liking him since I saw K3G and Devdas I think.. and now I'm absolutely in love with him! 😆


Any favorite movie of his?

Any favourite movie? I have a lot of them!!!!! Umm, firstly my most favourite movie EVER.. DDLJ! I can watch this movie whenever it is on air and never get broed and always fall in love with Raj.. such is the potrayal of Raj by SRK and the magic of Raj and Simran.. 😍.. then I absolutely love Swades.. That is one criminally underrated movie.. I loved each and eevery thing about this movie.. all the issues, I swear I always cry when I see that kisaan who tells his story to Mohan.. Always!! The love story, the whole returning to home concept.. Brilliant movie! Chak De, was also one amazing movie and SRK was just brilliant in the film.. KHNH, K3G are also one of my favourite favourite movies! I keep on watching these movies and they NEVER get old!


Anything else you'd like to share?

Umm let's see.. More than an actor, I admire SRK for the person he is.. Many people think he's fake and too pretentious but IMHO I think he's one of the sweetest person EVER! I love the way he treats his family, is so devoted to it and completely balances out his personal and professional life.. I love how he's an amazing husband.. I don't know if people find it weird, but I'm so proud of that fact, that SRK has never been linked up with ANY of his leading ladies.. when we know that today married actors are also linked up with every other girl they're working with.. I love it that he's such a protective man and takes great care of the heroines on the sets.. (every other actress who has worked with him has said that he takes a lot of care of them!) Many people think he has a bad sense of humour but I love his wacky antics and love his demented and crazy jokes! 😆 Even recently when the SS controversy came up, I admired him that he stood up for his beliefs and didn't apologize to them.

Okay this is getting too much of gushy gushy post.. I think I should just end it here.. 😆

For a new comer he was good but wasn't he on the small screen before he joined films??

I think he is very overrated


Also I think Srk has that charm on screen that works for him you can be the best actor on earth but if you don't have that screen presence then you have no chance at making it as a star.

SRK mania is really coming to an end, it seems.

I have a very unusual relationship with him! yes, yes I do! It's all very filmi...you know, hate at first sight, then slowly falling in love. LOL. I hated him during his Darr, Baazigar and Anjaam days because I thought that's how he was in real life, and he was the one who threw Divya Bharti off the window just like he threw Shilpa off. 😆 Not my fault! I was a little kid back then! haha.

But then I watched DDLJ and fell in lovee with him. All those years in the 90s...DTPH, Pardes, Yes Boss, etc...I was seriously in love. Crazyyyy love, haha. I'd fight with anyone who'd talk bad about him, lmao.

I still love him, but I really miss the 90s Shah. He had a certain flamboyance in him back then. And now when i look back..I think he was one of his kind in terms of his debut years and so. He played negative roles back and forth...and STILL was able to create a place in the audiences' hearts. Not so easy for a newcomer.

After all these years of following him...I've also come to love his personality. He's the most charming guy in bollywood, and the most wittiest! His interviews are never boring. And even the journos love to interview him. I love his love for his kids..he's such a sweet father. But I wish he'd focus more on his career. He's sort of limited himself...doing movies with the same kinda people etc. He needs to get out of his comfort zone and ditch KJo, YRF etc. Cuz he has so much potential. But he doesn't bother utilizing it.

I'm actually the opposite. I loved him in Dar, Anjaam and baazigar movies. He was the best when it came to villain roles.

I was a kid back so I didn't know what happened. But I wondered from the time Baazigar came out was it after divya's death?

I'm not sure what his first movie was but I liked him in Deewana and loved him in Baazigar. I was a small kid then and remember shedding bucket loads when he died in Baazigar, even though he was evil I couldn't help but feel sorry for him when he died.
Then came Darr, Juhi was my favourite actress at that time and I loved the two of them in the song Toot gayi toot ke main choor ho gayi and desperately wanted them to pair up together and used to curse Sunny Deol and even Juhi's character for not falling in love with SRK's character despite him being a psycho lol(in my defence I was very young back then).
So I loved him in his older movies more, there was something about the vulnerability in the way he played his evil characters, no matter the wrong he had done, he always made me empathise with him in the last death scene in these movies be it Baazigar, Darr and Anjaam.

I guess he must have thought he was getting typecast in these negative roles when he started doing candyfloss YRF and Kjo movies and I didn't like him at all in KHKH.

My favourite movies of his are Yes Boss and Swades. Love his and Juhi's chemistry, his best ever IMO, both of their comic timing was so effortless in that movie. With the latter, it was a relief seeing him do something new, too bad it didn't do that well, if it had he would have experimented thereafter.

Debut Movie:
I believe I saw this movie a long long long time ago! Well I'm not that old. I make it sound like I'm ancient! 😆 Anyways my point is that I can't remember it as vividly as I remember most of his other movies. Like any new comer he had a lot to polish on acting wise. He was just another ordinary film star during his first movie. But then all changed...

How has he grown as an actor?
Shahrukh is one of the few bollywood actors that has progressed in his career. Shahrukh really started springing into action with his film, Baazigar. After that it was practically hit after hit. Baazigar was the film that really made Shahrukh into what he is now, the king of bollywood. Movies following Baazigar started showing his versatility as an actor. In Baazigar, Darr, & Anjaam he played more of a negative character role in which he really excelled in. The audience was left awed by his wonderful performances! In Karan Arjun he played the ideal brother and son! It was so beautiful the way he portrayed his role in that movie. Even Salman was a treat to watch in that movie (and I am not a Salman fan)! And then we got the super hit DDLJ which really left a huge mark in Shahrukh's career. DDLJ made all the difference in the world. Even today, 15 years later the movie and the super hit jodi of Kajol and Shahrukh is widely discussed about. That only begins to explain how much of a wonder DDLJ was! Then he was on a role with super hit after hit; Yes Boss (Opp. Juhi), Dil To Pagal Hai (Opp. Madhuri and Karisma), Pardes (Opp. Mahima), Duplicate (Opp. Juhi and Sonali), and Dil Se (Opp. Manisha). In each of these movies he portrayed a different character. Then another blockbuster came for Shahrukh. Kuch Kuch Hota was probably another huge super hit. Kajol to thi hi film mein, but now the audience got exposed to another brilliant actress that has really now dominated the decade (Rani Mukherjee)! In this movie he portrayed the character of a sweet lover. Everyone was awed by his performance in the movie. Then he had films that didn't do so well in the box office but still were able to prove his versatility as an actor (Baadshah, Phir Bhi Dil Hain Hindustani, Hey Ram, Josh, One 2 Ka 4, & Ashoka. And then yet another Karan Johar film that everyone talked about, Kabhi Khushi Khabhi Gaum. A beautiful family centered film co starring Kajol, Kareena, Hrithik, Amitabh ji, Rani, & Jaya ji Once again this movie was remembered by millions! Directly a year after came Devdas, another blockbuster! His list of movies go on and on and on like more hits (Chalte Chalte, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Main Hoon Naa, Veer Zaara, Swades, Paheli, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Don, Chak De India, Om Shanti Om, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and most recently My Name Is Khan)! Not all of these movies proved to be a successful hit at the box office. Many were debatable. But point being here is that with each new movie he kept showing the audience what he was capable of doing and really has progressed as an actor!

Honestly I don't even know when my love and attractrion for Shahrukh began. It just did. I was awed by each and every performance of his. I went to his concerts, I decorated my whole room with his posters...I did what every crazy fan would do! It just happened. I don't know why or how.

There is no way I can just name one favorite movie. I think each film has been different from the others and each film has its pros and cons.

Oh and let me state that even though I have so much love and respect for Shahrukh and he is my number 1 favorite actor, Amitabh Bachan ji is really an remarkable actor and with the work he has done thus far really he needs an applause!

Let's sit back and watch a star that really progressed as an actor...
