The Film and Television Producers Guild of India are holding a press conference at Taj Lands End on 7th of December at 8 pm to announce the 2nd Apsara Awards. The awards are scheduled to be held in the third week of January. The press conference will be addressed by Amit Khanna – President FPGI, Yash Chopra – Vice President FPGI, Kunal Dasgupta – Vice President FGPI, Ramesh Sippy, Manmohan Shetty, Harish Thawani, Neeraj Roy and Raj Tilak.
Apsaras are recognized as the most credible film awards that happen in the country. That is because Apsaras are the awards of, for and by the members of the film industry. While the awards are for the members of the film industry, the nominations and winners are also voted by members on the guild who are an integral part of the film industry. So the winners are chosen by people who actually understand the intricacies of film-making.
