b) U're a biased KJO fan 😆😆😆 well im not a biased fan of his..though i hav so far liked KKHH,K3G & KHNH..n i wouldn't have cared if an alien made those movies cz i really love them! so im not doing any favors by watching his movies..plus i hated KANK n Kurbaan!

c) Welcome, Houseful, KANK, KKKG etc etc -- U take pleasure in such no-brainers :| completely hated all of them..i can't bear to watch a single minute of idiotic Akshey Kumar comedies.so certainly don't take pleasures in all no Brainer stuff.

A bad movie is a Bad movie. It's a shame that such amateurish movies are blockbusters.

so in that case i don't belong to any of the categories u mentioned..yet i really loved the film..
reason - i want some of the old B'wood back..rather than sexy clothes n intense plots...even i accept the plot was almost non-existent..but it was a pleasant n sweet romance..with no complications..i jst wanted a movie to relax..n i got it..

so not every1s reason is the same to liking it..so categorizing people who loved it as people with no taste/unseeing beyond blind devotion is a bit unfair...

so like u had enough reasons to dislike the movie(as per ur right) so do we have many different reasons 4 liking it :-)

My bad if I was generalizing too much ☺️☺️ But I still dont understand :| :| It wasn't even cute 😳 Again, people have different taste. I'd understand if it was a good direction or acting or good dialogs but there were none :|

A bad script :|

I found it really cute 🤣 I just needed a rom com to be honest so I loved it more for personal reasons!

Anyway, this is the kind of film people will have mixed reactions on. I am a die hard romantic (not that it means I love every romantic film out there) and I got what I needed. Some will hate it because they saw a lot of loopholes in the script. I know it wasn't perfect! But you either connect to it or you don't. Some did and some didn't!

i was praying for this film to do well for imran and sonam as shes had flops so far and imrans last two films didnt do well im so thankful most people enjoyed the film

Just saw the movie last night....loved it for its cuteness, freshness, characterization, witty dialogues and Imran-Sonam chemistry.

Like Reemz, I needed something to reaffirm my faith in old fashioned true love (I am sure u understand what I mean Reemz lol)

Yes, the second half could have been trimmed a bit but I have no complaints because this was this director's first movie but all in all....it brought a smile on my face as I left the theater.

Word to word Sangeeta! And yes I perfectly understand what you mean...Hehe! We just needed that mushy type rom com and I think this film was perfect for that! I agree, the 2nd half dragged places but nevertheless it was still kept me hooked!

i watched it relly funny at parts, however the love story cud not impact me, sonam does not look good i think she has lost even more weight she was not looking healthy! the screenplay was not good! and the movie made a mockery out of all the good movies that i love atleast those movies have a script! this movie had no script!! i wud have given this movie 2.5/5 but since it has made a mockery out of bollywood and all the movies that i love i will give it 1.5/5

Much as a lobby in media papers and some affiliated portals have been reporting bloated figures and occupancies for I Hate Luv Storys as a commercial grosser, comparing it to All India hits like Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani and what not, the reality on the ground is much different, even at the multiplexes. The Karan Johar film featuring Imran Khan-Sonam Kapoor has lower figures and occupancies than even last month's disaster Raavan in India (Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai), and less than Kites (Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori), which too was a disaster, and quite a lot worse than Prakash Jha's Rajneeti which was a hit.

Even in overseas in North America where it released mid-week Wednesday itself looking to capitalize on 4th July holiday coming up there, IHLS the film's collections were not upto expectation given it's a Karan Johar production, collecting a subpar 375K over the 3 day weekend and 535k over the extended 6 day wednesday-monday period there. Raavan which was a disaster overseas also 2 weeks before fetched $482k over its 3 day opening weekend despite opening below expectations and crashing on Sunday. Rajneeti earlier in June did $850k in USA for its 3 day weekend despite supposedly being an Indian interiors themed film.

In India, contrary to opening average of 80-90% claims across all multiplexes last Friday for IHLS, the multiplex opening average for this 'youth-centric' fare was actually closer to 40%-50% opening average with single screens much much lower. And by Wednesday, with possible exception of Delhi metro, the same multiplexes were drawing hardly 10-20 people for this 'multiplex hit'. This can be verified by visiting a multiplex like Cinemax in Andheri in Mumbai or Fame in Highland Park in Calcutta. Coming up 2nd weekend too is equally shaky. The multiplexes have been asked to allocate large number of screenings again but the actual advance bookings are sad. Not even 1% in some cases.

The collections are barely over 22-23 crores (even less according to some distributors) with occupancies worse than the flops of recent past. The film won't last more than a few days regardless of any media promotions sold as trade writeups.
