@cinemagoer, i also luvd the way in the end they showed how jay's life turn filmy , the synchronisation wit the onscreen rahul n jay.. :P jay running .. rahul running, jay in taxi , rahul in car.. similar situations, one reel another real..and then final scene, jay shouts " simrannnnnnnnnnn ," with arms open lol..😆 and onscreen it ws rahul wit openarms :D

@cinema-goer: But Ghajini's song wasn't a critical one in the history of bollywood love stories, don't you think? The colours weren't the same and the styling wasn't similar.

@princessunara: Oooo SHM is closer to home but it still doesn't seem like the perfect match because of difference in colour of shirts but it could be! :\

A part of me wants that part to be just J-Simran's and not directly inspired by another song. 😍

The moviee was good. I understand why poeple say it's predictable, I agree with them to some extent as the overall story was predictable about a guys who doesn't believe in love ends falling for a girl. However, after every scene my predictions would go wrong. I was guessing that the film would end at the airport but that didn't happen. Then i though imran was going to declare his love in front of all the audience, after he spoke to his mom and said 'she loves drama'. Personally, i didn't want anyone else to be involved in the confession. Everyother love story has that scene so i was happy that the end was diff.

I Hate Love Storys grossed a decent 6 crore nett over its second weekend. The breakdown was 1.30 crore nett on Friday, 2.05 crore nett on Saturday and 2.65 crore nett on Sunday.

This takes the films total business to 38 crore nett and the second week total should come to around 9 crore nett.

The lifetime business of the film is heading for a 45-46 crore nett total with distributor share being around the 22 crore mark. The distributor share of I Hate Love Storys will be the highest for Dharma Productions outside films that starred Shahrukh Khan.

so watched it finally...i wud say it was okay...kinda below expectation. I have to say at times, actually at many times it was poorly executed. No matter how much i tried to watch this movie leaving my brain outside, i couldn't. *spoiler* i still dnt get wat happened to sonam's bf in the end...did he just let sonam go like that? :S i couldnt find sonam's character very strong...i understood imran's situation but how did sonam fall for another guy when she was still in a relationship with sum1 else? I dont know, i was one of those ppl who LOVESSS love stories & i was really looking forward to this movie but it disappointed me. This one just couldn't connect to me at all...it had a lot of scope & potential...but it was just not rightly handled IMO. This love story along with kites will surely not be in my fav love stories movies list (even though it IS better than kites definitely!), i will probably even forget about it in a couple of days or weeks..

Coming to the performances, i think thats what saved this movie! imran is an awesome actor, his role was a mixture of srk in DDLG & saif in hum tum...& he portrayed a playboy kind of role really nicely. He looked totally hot not to forget. I was fond of his sweet nice boy kind of role in jane tu...so i m glad he got to play a different kind of role & played it really well. As for sonam, i love her & i m a huge fan of her. But, i m not gonna be blind about her acting skills...she has to improve a lot & i m sure she will. She looked like an angel in this movie...beautiful...wished she was given more powerful or nice scenes to play like imran had...cuz i felt this movie was mostly imran's. Kavin dave's character was my most fav out of all! He's one great actor & just loved him & all his scenes! Actually more than anything i ended up looking forward to his scenes every time. Imran-sonam make a VERY CUTE pair indeed & they have an amazing chemistry, which is another plus point.

Songs are okay...my fav are i hate luv storys & jab mila tu.

disappointing but great performances

I watched this movie on Thursday and man what a drag.. the first half was funny in bits, the second half was a disaster. If Punit had kept the movie short may be it would have worked but looks like he was hell bent on making a 2 and half hrs movie and just filled the second half of the movie with crap which doesnot take the story forward.

Imran was surprisngly tolerable, maybe he should just stick to rom-coms, other genres are not his cup of teas. And Sonam was so bad, she really needs some acting classes PRONTO! her performance in the movie was so bad she could give Katrina a run for her money. There was nothing in her acting that could actually convince you that she is suppose to be an art director in the movie.

The songs were good but mostly badly placed.

This movie reminded me of yash-raj in their glory days... great looking actors, designer outfits but no real story.

OMG i hated the movie, it was sooo bad, the story was really weird! or REALLY REALLY BAD! gosh bhagwan why did i waste my time on it?

and i also hated how Jai in the beginning saying that movies are bad , heros say in the starts that love is boring then falls in love and become deewanas but seriosly then they repeat the same thing in this movie?
