She looked pretty in indian attire.. haha. Her voice was dubbed in that scene where she is having dinner with Samar when he returns from abroad. I was like WTH?? 😆 After that she has like 4-5 scenes.. and nothing major either.. she even had a bigger role in de dana dan...
I meant that if raavan gets 1.5 stars then that won't make him/her hate the movie or change opinions. some poster made the mistake of posting raavan reviews in the raajneeti section and another poster reminds them its the raajneeti forum and raavan got 1.5 stars for the 2nd time, as if he/she is mocking them.Originally posted by: ladygaga
If raitings of a movie do not matter then why would critics write reviews and if there won't be any reviews then why would we even have this thread to begin with. Yes everything does boils down to opinion at the end but even a critical review is an opinion and a lot of people decide to watch movies based on opinions of critics. So I wouldn't label the ratings as irrelevant.
Ok I eventually watched Raajneeti with english subtitles…How lame of me --- I should take hindi classes already lol
So everyone knows it's about politics, betrayal, love, money, sex and I was forgetting ….about democracy…hmm Do I sum it up very well?
Politics : Ok! What was the political program of both parties (I mean all the characters fighting for providing their way to the top) to help the people? Because I failed to notice the sequence which explains the history of the party – how it was founded --- which was the program for the elections?
They showed a sequence about how they wanted to help some citizens..but it was abit random....
What was the difference in terms of politics ethics lol? Because both parties wanted to be head of the party to get the control...but what were the values (the contact with the masses - the economical progress...?) promoted by the party?
A young Indian girl whose father becomes the money provider for the campaign led by the two sons is given/traded to the brother she doesn't love – but eventually they have sex…with each other and she becomes pregnant.
1st lesson : Girls! Don't have sex with guys – otherwise you'll end up having babies -_- whether you're married, single, or a simple date. Yeah it's called law nature….and birth control pills don't exist…
A young irish girl student in love with one of the two sons – has sex with him ---- she becomes pregnant. She is for peace & love all over the world. ……
2nd lesson : Girls can't understand the violence of politics
Money : so Politics is about who will have the power and who will remain the master of the game…That's it. To be involved in politics, you must have money – what better way to offer your daughter for marriage, even if she is scandalized like hell - poor thing - she always thought everything was about singing & dancing & being in love...
Sex : A sex sequence for each pregnancy…in case we forget how do those stuff are done..and in case we don't know that EVEN politicians can have sex too – they're human beings after all…
What's with the "Race" sequence with RanKat ---- …-_-… Kinda short and unexpected --- in the night club… I almost thought SAK would have done some random cameo…
Btw the movie was not well edited …
Useless sequences :
Ajay and his mom re-united…..pitiful! It doesn't serve the story in any perspective.
Kat's speech at the end…."My hubby got killed and the crowd was silent, my party is being tearing apart and you 're silent again, just say something"…please Indu just shut up….? Indu/Indira…?
Rankat's sweet scenes…???what for??Because they don't get married to each other at the end…
yeah yeah because of Ajab Prem Ki blah blah blah
Coming to the performances : Veeru (Manoj Bajpai)& the Uncle (Nana Patekar) are the best out the movie. I liked the evolution of both of them. One becomes more & more mad and the other shows his evil face slowly and with a soft cynism!
Ranbir's acting is very good but too repetitive – especially the bit including the cigarette and his constant pensive look "what evil plans I'm going to imagine muah ahahha muahh ahahah"lol.
Even after the father's death – his fierce attitude is as subtle as his usual self at the beginning except when he wants to give his blood to save his father --- He becomes really desperate and he shows more passion and less phlegm.
Arjun Rampal was good in the psycho scenes and especially during one of his speech and when he "used" the pretty girl who wanted to run for an office (what happened to her? The only female who knew how it REALLY worked and how to work her *ss off for it lol was too soon out of the game) --- he's very good when he's becoming villain and so vicious – I quite liked it.
Ajay Devgn : what's with the same facial expression throughout all the movie long? It was kinda written all over his face "I'm Ajay Devgn the serious actor don't you know? Look How I'm serious and such a good actor"…and He didn't look 27 AT ALL!!!! I don't understand the need of his character in the movie…really….because he didn't connect with his bros and was just a pawn in the entire thing….his last scene is so lame….
I really dislike his constant grin --- pffff – I was thinking of Nysa for some reason whenever his constipated face was shown for no other obvious reason to focus on how pissed off he was to be alive or in the movie !
I must say – the movie is very interesting/very captivating (you just don't want to lose a line from it - very exciting because it HAS a storyline unlike some unecessary HYPED strictly below OK average other Hindi mindless movie) minus the random crowd which yells everytime – when there's a meeting indoors – the crowd yells outdoors – during a speech – a leader expresses himself / herself quietly - the crowd yells loudly – we know it's "Raajneeti"…lol
A bit sexist ….
Girls are either babies makers not that I mind but all of the female cast experience the joy of it…Except the w*ore party who was evil and strategic like a male and it didn't pay off …hmmm
Naseeruddin Shah's part was to make a girl pregnant…hmmm…such a "small" contribution to the movie…the need of him? He gave birth to trouble maker as well…
A bit bloody
Everyone has to die one day – could have been great if some would have NATURALLY…or in a more suspicious way not after billion of murders… like if we were in a Tarantino movie – the Kaminey effect? Anyone…!
The torture scene of the police man was giving me taste for some grenadine drink. So much for calling it a serious movie….
A bit dragged at some points
The whole wedding – the whole explosion scene with the killings of 2 lead characters – the Tarantino sequence at the end…
A bit WTF
So At the end – after killing people – gun in the hand – hatred in the heart – pain in the *ss Ranbir decides to look after his GF – unofficial fiance's mom…alright…couldn't she come to India to live in the superb house!!!???
Kat's role – except whining crying having pity for herself.......they kinda wasted her …No change for her except she's more submissive – still nave…
What does she learn as the head of the party? Is she used? Or is she the new real master of the game?
Where's the revolutionary man?
….I hope for Raajneeti 2 he he!!!
