Director Punit Malhotra emphatically denies that he is seeing the actress

While there are innumerable reports that Sonam Kapoor is dating Punit Malhotra, the debutant director has a different story to tell.

News about their so-called affair may have provided a bit of publicity for Punit's directorial venture I Hate Luv Storys for Dharma Productions, but Punit says that there is no truth to the rumours.

Talking for the first time about Sonam, Punit says, "All that is being written about Sonam and me is rubbish. I am very much single." He refused to comment further.

Certain reports have suggested that Sonam and Punit are in a serious relationship. A recent report said that Sonam and Punit were spotted together on a dinner date.

However, a friend of Punit reveals, "That day, Sonam and Punit hadn't gone out on a private date. They were at a common friend Shiraz Siddique's party where there were more than 50 guests.

They were seen getting into their respective cars but that's simply because their cars were parked nearby."

"Stories linking him with Sonam bother Punit, but there is little he can do. But it hasn't changed their warm relationship," adds Punit's friend.
