haha... some of the comments are really hilarious!!! Hey I'm south Indian whats wrong with the accent?? Though mines more Australian soo I guess I don't really have an south accent!

And about the film

I thought ASIN was going to step in! no one talked about her! I really wish Deepika refuses this film. Shes already doing 3 films this year one with Imran, Abhishek, and Neil... Please I really want Asin for this role!

It's not just the accent, but rather (and mostly) the way she delivers her dialogues which is the problem. Dialogue delivery, along with facial expressions (Deepika isn't all that bad on that department), is what makes up ones acting. Deepika's diction is always the same - no matter what role she is playing. There's no depth to her voice or the way she speaks. I guess dialogue delivery is the weakest point of her. She really needs to improve this before anything else. It seems as though she is reciting verses she had just memorized, and not things she is saying from inside. Ironically, she was pretty good on her first film (OSO) though, but I heard her voice was dubbed there. Now I can understand why it was dubbed though. 😆

I agree,the accent is not the problem..!!..its like,her dialogue delivery is monotonous..She needs guidance during dubbing..!!!..But her expressiosn are improving day by day..like for instance even a look @ her recent adds,She has improved a hell lot ,not that she was bad in it in OSO..!!..

^^ But either way, I don't like her. And I don't think this is going to change so soon. 😆

And anyway, I believe that anyone can improve their acting skill[s] if they are given chances after chances, so that's not really a big deal, is it. I mean, when you give someone chance for the umpteenth time, then there is going to be a moment when the actor will showcase some acting skills. So this really isn't a great feast to me to see mediocre actors giving above-average performances when they work with a good director (Ash, anyone?). Why only Deepika, even Amisha Patel, Diya Mirza, Katrina Kaif, Negar Khan or the likes can give top notch performances if they keep on trying, working with some of the most influential names of the industry, and given enough time.

For me, true actors are natural actors, and natural actors are the ones who don't need good directors, good scripts, or a huge amount of time to showcase their talent. Actresses like Sridevi, Madhuri, Kajol, Rani, Tabu, Vidya, even Kareena or Priyanka etc are true/natural actresses to me, since they were good from the very beginning of their career, and had given good (or at the very least, average) performances even in some horrendous films.

Not every1 can be a Madhuri or a Kajol/Rani we have to get used with what we have😆

Sad but true. Miss that combo of looks and acting. All we have left is the looks.
