Actress Amrita Rao says artist Maqbool Fida Husain deeply misses India. Amrita spoke to him just days before he gave up his Indian citizenship. But he never discussed the issue with her. Their conversations are not really professionally inclined and they discussed art and cinema. Amrita says he never really told her anything about his citizenship. The actress adds she has known him closely enough as a friend to understand how he feels. She became his muse since 'Vivah' and she knows how strongly he feels for this country and wants to come back. Whenever she is in Dubai and he comes to see her off at the airport, he looks with longing eyes as to when he'll be able to pass that channel and come to India.
He still talks about making movies, and keeps making notes about ideas that he could utilize. Husain now also wants to do another series, depicting Amrita Rao as the ideal Indian woman, adopting different cultures that India has to offer. Even though Amrita is excited about this series, her favorite work remains the first painting he did of her. You may recall that M.F. also admired two other Bollywood actresses - Madhuri Dixit and Tabu, and made movies with them.
