Now I have a few more to add

Rani in Hey Ram and Yuva. Somehow I have never thought she was as great as touted to be in some of her leading roles (Black, Hum Tum, KANK for instance) as she was when she did the smaller bits in these movies. She was good in Saathiya but I preferred Shalini's performance in Alaipayuthey much more. There was an ease about Shalini and Madhavan in Alaipayuthey that I preferred when compared with Saathiya.

Kunal Khemu in Zakhm

Anupam Kher in Saaransh, Tahaan.

Madhuri in Mrityudand.

And though I wouldn't say speechless quite fits but I did like SRK in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na a lot.

Manisha Koirala in Bombay.

Ranvir Shorey in Mithya. This is one of the most interesting films I've seen in recent times and Ranvir was brilliant.

Vinay Pathak in Dasvidanya.

In fact, I had seen the Tamil original first and thought that no one could better Shalni (the girl who played the female version in Tamil) in the role, but Rani brought out such a heart-warming vulnerability to the character! The scene where she breaks down crying after hearing of her Father's death was done splendidly!
Rani's best peformances are her most undramatic ones! You are right about Hum Tum...she was excellent in it! Especially the later half, when she becomes widowed! A very restrained and subtle act! One of her best!

True there. Black is [grossly] overrated, in every single department. Honestly, there was nothing special about the film, except perhaps the little girl who played Rani's childhood. Rani seemed like a mentally retarded person, not a deaf, dumb and blind one that she is meant to be. She was good, but nothing extraordinary.

Since you have already written about Saathiya and Hum Tum, I think I'd add Veer-Zaara to the list. She was the life and soul of the movie for me. Despite the fact that she had a small role, with a limited number of scenes, she produced the highest impact. Yet, she didn't receive the due she deserved. Her portrayal of Sashi in Yuva overshadowed her brilliance in Veer-Zaara. That's not to say she wasn't good in Yuva. I think Yuva was one of the best - if not the best - performance Rani gave on her whole career. I watched the Tamil version later, and after watching the Tamil version, I thought everything was much better in it than the Hindi one - except perhaps Rani. I also feel the same way for her in Hey Ram - underrated. Another phenomenal performance by her.

Of course Rani excelled in the latter half of Hum Tum. Frankly speaking, I did not like her much in the first half; she was extremely annoying. I thought this was going to be another of those candy-floss performance by Rani. But post the scene where she tells Saif that her husband is no more, Rani turns herself into a completely different avatar, and gives a totally different performance than what she did on the first half. As you said, very subtle, and at the same time, very deep.

I also want to add Kareena in Aitraaz. I don't know if I will say speechless, but I really liked her as a lawyer. In fact, I liked her more than Priyanka on that film.

Tabu's best performance (to me) is Maqbool. I think I liked her the most there, even more than Chandni Bar or even Namesake. There was something oddly raw about the way she portrayed Nimmi. Her grey shades and all.
