Generally - James Bond Girls have a global and original appeal and are perceived as Unusual Beauty Icons...And they have to be exotic and representative of various areas of the world...

Of course - they generally have a model&fashionista background and are considered to be the FACE at one point of time of BEAUTY and deserve the SEX SYMBOL tag, which they do. Which clearly is the case of Freida Pinto.

By the way, most of actors in JB are chosen according to their nationalities also..because the storyline often includes different locations....

One more thing there is NO favoritism in the JB's girls CAST - it depends of the VOGUE factor of the chosen ones and not of their connections or their stardom power in their home country.

And the CAST crew has a UNIVERSAL sense of beauty and appeal...the indian criterion aren't taken into consideration there...(skin color, family surname tag or local popularity)...

I'm very proud of Freida even as a NON indian...that's great that someone like HER (I mean someone who wasn"t meant to do a proper career in BW) reaches such heights!!!! that's commendable and good for her - she's going to make a lot of MONEY...

bond girls aren't really required to act so i duno if we'll get to see her acting in this movie either, hopefully itll be more than slumdog..

i've always hated girls in bond movies, what do they have to do anyway? They hardly act, just wear bikinis..or beyond that.

In license to kill ---- Talisa Soto was awesome...of course JB's girls are hot and appealing...because guess what it's not a movie about Feminism but a spy's movie --- how do you call Priyanka in Don? She was decorative. She was a Don's girl, same for sonia and Bebo's character....In Hindi movies there are almost ONLY candy eye heroines!!!! Or mommies or aunties. The only difference is that t there are no love scenes...

Grace Jones was excellent too with Roger Moore and their jodi was spicy!!!

I love JB! And it's an honour for any actress who stars in it. It's not because an actress shows some skin that makes her a s*ut or that she can't act. Most of JB's girls act well....At least better than some of the top BW actresses.....

So it's easy to despise when in India...the acting skills of indian top actresses are really mediocre compared to some chinese actresses like Gong Li or Zhang Ziyi!

I like how indian people judge west movies when most of their top actresses are from the start really TALENTLESS...

The movie isn't released yet - you become judgemental about it..and some do the same about your faves - then it's not right....well

Ian fleming added spice in the storyline with sexy & dangerous women --- it's the spirit of the movie - it's the formula...

*Generally JB's girls are far from being airheadS...unlike some Hindi heroines...or Hindi actress...

It's just a spy's movie....

And making a spy's movie with a hero who doesn't have sex or doesn't touch any hot heroine is quite hypocrit....nah?

Wow congo to her, but is it confirmed or just another rumor? Michelle yeoh will always be my fav bond girl, coz she did way more than just being eye candy. I loved her stunts in the movie, she totally rocked and I even loved Teri hatcher in that movie.

and its true, bond girls dont do much but it really does put the actress on the map. those that dont know of the actress will know as well.

i bet the bollywood actress are sh*ting bricks right now. 😆 how many of them were supposedly being considered according to their PR? here freida was being considered for quite sometime and yet we didnt really hear anything until it was confirmed. a class act!
