I'll never fudge my collections, says Aamir Khan
Mumbai: The last one year has been an emotional roller-coaster ride for actor Aamir Khan. On one hand, he grieved the loss of his child with wife Kiran Rao and then his father's demise. On the other, he saw the biggest success of his career in the form of 3 Idiots — that has set an all-time box office record. "You have to grieve. You need your moments of sadness. I don't believe in theories that ask you to bounce back from a loss the very next day. You need to mourn a loss, because that shows you the way forward," says Aamir.

There has also been quite a buzz in the industry with reports claiming that the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer My Name Is Khan has surpassed box office collections of Aamir's last release 3 Idiots in some markets. When asked about it, birthday boy Aamir (today's his 45th birthday (March 14, 2010) says, "I don't want to comment about others or other films. But I can tell you this much — I will never fudge my figures or collections (box office returns). Because at the end of the day, you are only fooling yourself. The audiences' verdict is written on the wall and all that matters is how many tickets you have sold. When you go wrong, you need to come to terms with it. It's not defeat. For me, it's an acknowledgment that I can do better." He adds, "I have not checked those claims (My Name Is Khan's box office figures). But I guess, I don't need to tell you how my film (3 Idiots) has fared."
