Rani Mukherjee parting ways with Yash Raj Films

Rani Mukherjee has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. She has been keeping a low profile for quite some time now and has not interacted with the media but rumours about her keep hitting the headlines. Just on the heel of the report that she has stopped talking to her friends, news is doing the rounds that she has parted ways with the Yash Raj Films banner.

It is said that Rani has decided to do films for other production houses and keep away from Yash Raj Films for good. The banner seems to be unlucky for her, as her career started dipping ever since she concentrated on films under the banner. The once queen of Bollywood has lost her place in her own den today.


It may be recalled that all her films under the Yash Raj Films such as Tara Rum Pum, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and Dil Bole Hadippa kissed the dust at the box office in spite of the hype before the release.

Yash Raj Films however had success in Chak De India and New York, which didn't feature Rani. Once again, they have decided to do a film without her. This time, they have roped in Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma for their upcoming release Badmaash Company.

However, it looks like the news of Rani parting ways with the banner seems to be just a speculation, as neither the banner nor the actress has spoken out. Irrespective of the rumours, the queen is likely to bounce back sooner than later. She is currently promoting Indian film festival in Australia along with Rajkumar Hirani.

Rani says 'alvida' to Yash Raj Films

Rani Mukherjee, who has been working only with Yash Raj Films for a while now, seeing as all her last few releases, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic and Dil Bole Hadippa, were under the YRF banner, is finally ready to work with other banners.

She will be doing an important role in No One Killed Jessica, produced by UTV. Vidya Balan will be a part of the film too, playing Sabrina Lall, Jessica's sister. Rani's role in the film will be that of the journalist who brought the Jessica Lall case back to notice. The film will shot in New Delhi and will be a thriller, exactly why Rani has agreed to do it in the first place. It will be directed by Rajkumar Gupta (the director of Aamir).

Siddharth Roy Kapoor of UTV is overjoyed to have both Rani and Vidya on board. The actresses will get a lot of scope in this movie.

Rani Mukherjee going Aditya's way?

Bollywood filmmaker Aditya Chopra is known for not socialising – he doesn't attend parties, film functions and interact with the media. Now, the grapevine is abuzz with the news that his reticence has rubbed off on Rani Mukherjee, who is rumoured to be seeing him.

It is reported that Rani has stopped calling her friends and don't even take calls at times. She has stopped communicating to close friends including Urmila Matondkar, Dia Mirza and Manish Malhotra, as she has been spending most of her time with her niece Mysha.

Rumours started spreading after Rani skipped the wedding of Dr RK Agarwal's daughter. Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant is said to be the only person she is in touch with. It is said that she has changed a lot of late and wants to be all alone.

Manish Malhotra, who is close to the actress, also admitted that he hasn't interacted with her recently but it was because of her busy schedule. He said that she has been busy shooting in Delhi while he keeps himself busy with his shows and the ongoing fashion week.

But why should Rani shout rubbish on top of the roof when she has nothing to say? The fact is that she is not a kind of person who would do anything to stay in the news.
