While rumours about Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao keep springing up about how Amrita and Shahid are back in talking terms and then move to even how Shahid ignored Amrita at events, we have confirmed news that Shahid's mother Neelima Azim has approached Amrita to be castopposite Shahid in her forthcoming productionventure.


Shahid and Amrita have already garnered good acclaim as co-stars fortheir performance and chemistry in Vivaah and Ishq Vishq.

"Amrita is supposed to don a newexperimental avatar for Neelima's film that also is looking to have Shahidplaying the lead. Thisdevelopment is giving out strong hints that Shahid's mother definitely likes Amrita on a professionallevel or else she wouldn't be looking to cast her opposite her own son for the ambitious movie in which she has been pouring in her heart and soul," says an insider close to the development.

Meanwhile, while rumours are strong thatAmrita was not considered for Shahid's dad Pankaj Kapur's directorial venture that also has Shahid in the lead, the informer adds that Amrita was in fact approached by the veteran actor.

"Pankaj Kapur had approached Amrita for Mausam initially. However, things didn't materialize as Pankaj was looking for a fresh combination with Shahid, although he is very fond of Amrita," the source justifies.

Though Amrita was unavailable for a comment, her publicist confirmed the story to us.
