Veer is great movie, I really do not get why the critics give it a bad review?
I think it is one of the best I have seen from Salman.
I really enjoyed it.

Veer Records Huge Collections On Republic Day Holiday

Veer recorded huge collections on Tuesday which was Republic Day holiday. The film grossed around 6.25 crore nett as per early estimates which takes it five day business to nearly 29 crore nett. The collections on Tuesday are the second highest ever for a Tuesday after Three Idiots but is must be noted that Veer did the business on a major holiday.

The film has benefited hugely from Republic Day holiday as the collections are double of what they would have been if it was a normal day.

The film is now heading for a 33 crore nett plus total and a distributor share of over 20 crore. Normally films post large drops after a big holiday so if Veer can stay around its Monday range on Wednesday and Thursday that will a good sign for its second weekend.

My Review of Veer:

Saw Veer on the weekend. Veer is a period movie and it does well in taking you in that era. Sets are splendid and Salman was the perfect warrior. The essence of the British and the Raja, Maharaaja rule was well depicted. Jackie Shroff was excellent in his role of the evil King of Madhavgadh. Puru Raj Kumar does well in his role, though, it was not a long role. Mithun Da as the Pindaari leader was awesome. Salman was the best thing about the movie. He has performed really well. Sohail was usual. Zarine was great for first timer.

Veer certainly brings the patriotic feel. Though, some of the dialogues people might consider over the top. Still, I loved the movie. It's very well made. Background score was brilliant. I liked Kanha before watching the movie but after watching it, I'm liking it even more. Great action sequences in the movie. It was a refreshing change to watch a period movie after a while, which is well made.

My rating is 3.5 out of 5 (being conservative). I'm cutting marks for a few sequences that could have been shortened, specially Sohail's scenes (some of them could have been left out, but he has little screen space as it is, so I should not complain) and the song sequences early on in the movie (I think they should've shortened the Meharbaaniyan song), though I did love them. 😆 I'm going again for sure to watch it. It'll be a while till Veer releases on the DVD, and I don't want to wait that long to watch it again. 😃

When unanimously most of the critics write off a movie, it does seem fishy, doesn't it. I can understand some people not liking period movies, but ratings of 1 and 1.5?? 😕 Really?? 😆😆
2.5 rating, makes sense, because some people are picky. Even MAMK did not get as bad reviews as Veer, and we all know what kinda movie that one was. 😆

I loved the movie. It's a great period film and very well made. Good time to release too, close the to Republic Day. It made me feel quite patriotic, specially the dialogues about India and the ending, so it definitely conveys the message it wanted to convey. 😃
