Seems like Shahid Kapoor has finally gotten over his break-up with Kareena Kapoor and is enjoying his single status again.

"When a person is freed from bondage, you have to see how he runs," says Shahid.

Free from the bondages of an unsuccessful relationship, Shahid admits he's in greater control of his life.

"About two years ago, I started doing the kind of work I believed in. I had earlier been doing work which I was told should be done. I think I have become my own person," he says.

"Today I feel a lot more complete and confident. I have a lot more faith in myself," says Shahid.

Now, is that a reference to a certain Ms Kapoor? It's known that Shahid and Kareena used to guide each other on everything - from the kind of projects to sign to the kind of look to carry and even what to eat. They were so much in love that they would blindly follow each other's advice.

But now that Shahid is free from the relationship, he's probably repenting his actions back then.

Does the break-up still bother the actor? "It does hurt sometimes," he says.

Well, Shahid must carefully choose his words because it's quite easy to read between the lines. Or better still, he must follow the Bollywood rule that silence is golden.

Great to know that the relaotinsihp was like a bondage. And that it only worked to stall his career.

Well congrats on your new found independence.

Since you rid yourself of your ex, may you now flourish, since hse ofcourse only worked to hinder your ambition.

And KAran is a total woman loves to gossip....

I think he should forget what happened in past adn th emedia shoudl also stop asking him the same questions over and over.....

"I respect my past with grace and dignity and look forward to a bright future".

Have heard her use it twice very recently even if she IS questioned about her past relaitonships.

IF he's talking about Kareena Kapoor and how suffocated his past made him feel, then grow up kiddo. I don't necessarily find it completely wrong if one talks about their past in public as after all it's their choice, but I always thought Shahid was bent on being secretive 'cuz of his previous interviews. Oh well.

K-JO is like one of those ladies that my Mom tells me to be away from.
