thats where u have gone wrong, avatar has an emotional heart moving tale to tell rather than big CGI, its a big loss to miss an epic like this...

and i am not talking abt CGI, i am talking abt the content of the movie which is brillaint, and our films do lack tht substance BECAUSE we are making films for money especially the big budget flicks

Well, emotionally what works for some does not work for others. There's no right or wrong about it. I found the plot hackneyed and predictable. The CGI was great and the action was awesome, but all that "nature good, technology bad" moralising is a bit ironic coming from a movie that is completely dependent on hi tech wizardry.

I got 2 things out of it 1) You should not invade other countries/planets/places for your own selfish gain. You must understand the culture the people before you do something...try diplomacy. There is a big anti-war message in it. Very relevant to today's times. 2) Appreciate nature....don't destroy it without thought....because you don't understand it completely....again what with the Climage change summit going on very relevent.... don't think it necessarily said nature is good and technology is bad! The story was simple but the message was strong. and CGI was fantastic...but to me that was so secondary!

A bit too strong for my taste. It was unsubtle, much like Delhi 6, with its "look in the mirror, the Kaala Bandar is within all of us " message. It bangs away on this theme endlessly, without ever acknowledging that enterprise (or greed, if you will), is responsible for civilisation as we know it. Otherwise we'd all be hunter-gatherers. Without it James Cameron would not be making Avatar.

^^^
well u may have reasons for it, but one thing is for sure that avatar has truly arrived as a classic..there will be many more criticizing it on many counts, but on the greater side, with majority it will emerge as a winner and ruler of hearts and that's confirmed

the second one is called new moon and everyone has diierent opinions some might like avatar more some like new moon more but i dont think its fair to compare both because they are totally different form one another from what ive seen the only similarity was that they used CGI 😊

and @ the topic hmmmmm i really dont know why they dont make films like the avatar and i think if they do try to make one it will be another masala and melodramatic movie 🥱

lol
reasons

1.lack of script

2. money..big time money

3. interest in investing a LOT in a virtually unknown actor!

4. A daringness to explore a new theme intead of sticking to woebegone recycled ones which have long ceased to be interesting

5. an actress who actually has the guts to appear as alien and weird thoughout the movie and nt worry about "image" and couture

6. a director who commands all the respect

many many more

that given,,I wasnt impressed with avatar.... but i get what u are trying to say

ya thts i want to say , m not comparing is just tht both movies have released one week after another, nd ppl are criticizing of avatar of nothing, i have seen tht ppl are mad after twilight😳 im not saying it was bad, it was fantastic but i found avatar the best, nd many ppl will answer in reverse, so its vice - versa yes u r right 😃
