why didnt swades work..???

okay, so i caught up with parts of swades for like 3354365th time,and again i wonder,how did this movie not work..??

it had SRK. it had ashutosh after lagaan..it had AR rehman at best.

only thing it didnt have is perhaps s well known heroine.but then, even CDI had no romantic angle to it..OSO n RNBDJ had newcomers too.i know these movies were all glittery stuff which the audience likes,but still it needed to do reasonably well atleast...

no actually frankly speaking..what i see tht it was not promoted in a very finite way, the promos were interesting but not exciting ... it was something shahrukh always missed a mark, same with paheli as well, swades could have worked if ashutosh have pre-told the people its actual power and strength which he didn't. the promos didn't have any spark, which the public usually want and especially youth dominates our country, they simply didnt like the movie...although it was good but not promoted as it was...

i agree that it was slow,but it was enlightening...it was most probably srk's best wrk till now.better than CDI.there have been many off beat movies doing well. i agree,it wasnt promoted well,but still it did have the curiosity factor to it.youngsters found it slow,but the message was hard hitting...
sigh,i wish these movies r released again rather than these mindless movies of today..:(

ya def..if u ask to review the film, it had strength, it stands out completely, i found it better than JA. the music in this was far much better thn JA. i cant forget tht radio tune...in yeh jo des hai mera, what a soothing tune...kisiko neend na naye to woh sun laye...masterpiece👏 Swades as a movie needs to be applauded 👏

I really liked swades...such a shame it didn't work at the box office. I thought SRK acted brilliantly... sometimes I find he can go a bit OTT with his acting but maybe thats because some of the characters he plays require that. But in swades i had no complaints... i loved the way he portrayed Mohan. I don't think it was because the film had newcomers that it didn't work, in fact i thought SRK had some great chemistry with Gayatri Joshi and made a good pair. Its most likely the film wasn't successful because of poor promotions or that audiences prefer to watch leave your brain at home comedies rather than sensible films like swades.

Honestly I didn't enjoy Swades that much. The idea behind it was great and the performances were awesome as well, but it was just too long and tedious.
