Did Amrita convert? Aamir and SRK's wife never converted...they went for a court marriage. SRK and Gauri actually had a Hindu marriage as well. You don't have to convert if your country has civil marriage and you are not required to get married under any religion.

It's mostly inheritance laws that get you intro trouble. So if you want to inherit property and stuff ....then there are issues. I think most inheritance laws are bound by religion...not 100% sure though.

In India the laws for inheritance and such are super complicated. And it depends on the religion, region etc. Like there is something called a "Hindu un-divided family" and all ancestral property for Hindus is transferred through an HUF. Muslim inheritance laws are separate and I think are decided by the Waqf board.

As an example my father is a "Kashmiri state subject". Its like a special citizenship and only Kashmiri state subjects can buy and inherit property in Kashmir. If a "Kashmiri state subject" male marries someone who is not one he still gets to inherit the property or buy land in Kashmir (which my father did). But if a woman marries a non state subject that she loses her claim on any property and the special citizenship itself.

So basically it depends on the community you belong to and whether its ancestral property or not.

When Dharmendra was married to His first wife Prakash then why did he have to become a muslim to marry Hemaji who was not a muslim !! Is that because in islam men can marry 4 wives and women wait for their fate to hear Talak talak talak 3 times !! I know the law but converting someone is not ones own choice and its families husbands wish !! if they donot convert the mothers then why call their children by muslim names !! They donot wish to convert their wives like Saifu says but children are automaticaaly converted !! I know a man married to a hindu woman for 16 years did not tell her parents but does not allow her to go to a temple, let her participate any hindu festival !! Donot even let her say namastey to anyone but Salaam !! When Kareena will go into that family she will be automatically converted because everything that will happen in that family will be in muslim way !! Will He let her keep Karva chauth vrat !! When Sharmila couldnot do it being converted into muslim how could they let her do !! Their are hindu retuals connected with it !! Sorry not being funny or bashing any one !! I love very religion, community and humanity !!

Umm saif went with kareena and celebrated Chrismtmas wiht her family. He also celebrated Diwaali.
Likewise, kareena was wiht saif and celebrated Eid last year.
You're generalizing one case to all inter religious marriages. I doubt Srk stops Gauri from doing anything she likes. I dobut he forces her to say prayers. I doubt Aamir forces his wife to do somethign she dosent wanna do.

OMG That's crazy! different laws for different communities? what happens to the inter-communal children? what about the atheists? what about minority groups? everything seems so complicated..

Sorry I am not generaling any one thing !! The persons you have mentioned do not have their families living with them or alive Neither is SRKs nor is Amir Khans !! May be their uncles or cousins !! But who cares for them these days !! Yes of course they might not object for their wives to do whatever they like !! But both Nawab and Sharmila are alive and Koran is read in their family and thats nice !! Every religion has right of their own !! good luck !! Allah Bless them !!

Saif isnt even that religious himself, so why would he convert Kareena? Its up to them anyways, whatever htey choose together.

I dont think either of the two is big on religion so I dont even see this as a problem

Wow. Are you sure there rules for different communities? I've never heard anything like that. Maybe it exists for Kashmiri state subjects.

What about inheritance through wills? Where does religion come in there?
