I remember in Sajid Superstars too she talked about how no one knew about the break-up on the sets of KiKo. This was when she was asked whether she was the reason for the Shahid-Kareena break up and her answer was a categorical NO.

Seriously if she was this upset with him why would she be invited/show up at his birthday party?

Like Aneesha said those questions about Shahid and the stuff about "somebody's caustic remarks" sound separate to me.

Here's my 2 cents on this. I am not a Shahid fan and therefore, not invested that heavily in his link-ups. But, I know this for sure that the very idea of a Shahid-Vidya romance gives me shudders. I probably couldn't come up with a more mis-matched looking couple even if I put my mind to it.

I could see from this interview that Vidya holds some deep-rooted resentment towards Shahid. Otherwise, her parting line wouldn't have been to repeat 'Did I say that I want to work with Shahid". THat sentence just by itself tells me that Shahid's decision to not work with her has cut her to the quick and she is harboring a lot of hurt feeiings


Exactly. There was something going on between her and Shahid. Only they know what. The interviewer knew exactly how to push her buttons and it worked. She did sound a little too irritated........her last line was a dead give away for me. Why would she say something like that if they were platonic friends or mere acquaintences?

Shahid's definitely sowing his wild oats. Kareena, then Vidya,then Priyanka and then Anushka Sharma (yep, I believe those rumours too).

Her interview is a lot more vague and allusive than Harman's and the interviewer was probably lobbing a lot of loaded questions towards her. But, she never categorically denies the allegations that the interviewer makes about her and Shahid. I don't know whether it's because her feelings were one-sided or that she and Shahid parted on cold terms.

I think Vidya and Shahid were friends and nothing more. It looks like she was interested in him, but he saw it more as a friendship.
I think Vidya's reaction was more to what the reporter said. He said Shahid does not want to work with you. Well, if someone told me that I would say the same thing back. Plus, the reporter stupidly keeps bringing the Shahid angle to create a story.
She categorically denies ever dating Shahid in trillions of interviews. There is nothing like "no comments" etc. She did not even know he was broken up. Now if a guy is dating someone, wouldn't she know that his relationship with another has ended or at least wouldn't she want to confirm it's ended.
Maybe there was feelings from her side. She even made a statement like "I wouldn't mind dating Shahid" But, that's all I can see in this Vidya and Shahid angle. Like you said, they are completely a mis-matched pair. I think Shahid even said that if they ran into one another, they would talk about the weather or something. Showing that their relationship is very formal.

^He said that if they were in an elevator together they would make small talk. The weather thing was for Saif.

I also don't think there was anything between Vidya and Shahid. I guess she had a crush on him and he didn't reciprocate. I think this particular interview comes out looking worse because of the questions the interviewer asked and how he framed them. He keeps bringing in Shahid - she says there is no connection with him. She got irritated.

Lets say you liked a guy, he didn't like you back and the interviewer says that the guy doesn't want to work with you, wouldn't you snap back to. Doesn't mean there was anything between them. If there was wouldn't she have heard about the break-up with Kareena from when they were shooting from him?

Also like Rani mentioned in all her interviews Vidya has said they weren't together, and if Shahid had asked her she would not say no.

So you're basically insinuating that the interviewer pulled Shahid's name out of thin air? Why not John Abraham.....she was linked with him as well. Just because he and Bipasha are "together" does not take those rumors go away. Why not use his name to ask the same questions to her? Why did he keep using Shahid's name and bring up the whole KiKo scenario? After all its been 1 year since those rumors.......if it was nothing, why make a big deal out of it?

I think it's because Kismet Konnection in general was a disaster for Vidya's career. She was on high before KK happened. All of a sudden after this movie, she was called aunty and all kinds of nasty names by people. And her jodi with Shahid was maligned big time. She will never live that down. I am sure that would pull more of a reaction than her so called rumoured affairs with John and Akshay.
