Minisha, Neha and Mugdha launch WALS
Launching the 'Shave India Movement' Women Against Lazy Stubble (W.A.L.S), a group of young women looking to attract all like-minded women across India, who believe that it is about time MEN made a little effort to shave, are happy to announce that Bollywood actresses Minissha Lamba, Neha Dhupia and Mugdha Godse have joined their league to get men to shave.
To further supplement their plans to expand their movement in the country, Gillette Mach 3 has come onboard to support their campaign by introducing the new razor at only Rs.125 and spread the message that women will no longer put up with men's lazy behaviour and lazy stubble. The support from Gillette will enable W.A.L.S to reach a much wider audience through its strong network. Now, Gillette is offering the Gillette Mach3 at Rs 125 only, so men don't have an excuse any longer for not shaving.
The message that WALS intends to spread to men across the country is three fold:
1.) Till men don't shave, they will not co-operate with them.
2.) Now that the comfort of Gillette Mach 3 is affordable, there are no more excuses to not be shaving.
3.) If men don't shave, they shouldn't expect women to groom themselves either.
Actress Minissha Lamba strongly agrees with the group's sentiment emphasizing the importance of a well-groomed man, "Yes!! Grooming includes several things like well-maintained hair, clean nails etc… But you have to start somewhere… If men can't spend a mere 5 minutes to shave, then will they do anything else? Companies like Gillette constantly innovate their products to offer men a close and comfortable shave, making it easy for them and at an affordable rate… There are no more excuses for men's lazy behaviour."
Actress, Neha Dhupia, says, "If women can spend hours in an effort to look good, then why can't men spend a mere 5 minutes of their time to look civilized and groomed? Men don't like it when we look unkempt and ungroomed, so why is there a double standard? Now that Gillette Mach3 is comfortable and affordable, what excuses are left for men?"
Actress, Mugdha Godse reiterates, "The reason we decided to support the W.A.L.S movement is because, we as women, empathise with their plight. Men expect us to look our best – when they are entertaining clients, when we go out for dinners but don't really care much about their dishelved looks… We are here to tell them that WE CARE. If they don't do it, then we wont either"
Sonali Dhawan, Associate Director, P&G Beauty & Grooming, P&G India commented on the company's support of the campaign, "When we conducted a survey with AC Nielsen last year, we found that a majority of Indian women prefer the clean-shaven look. W.A.L.S came about to let men know that women prefer them clean-shaven so it is about time that they got up and started shaving. We will do everything to support and scale it up to reach all like-minded women across the country. We have even introduced a new Gillette Mach 3 at an affordable price of only Rs 125, so men no longer have an excuse to not shave"
