Despite being in Goa, Pooja Bhatt is in no holiday mood. But then again she is! What with packaging her latest movie Holiday. One characteristic that Pooja inherits from her father is conversing prowess. In a conversation with IndiaFM, Pooja talks about her film though not revealing much about it yet arousing the curiosity factor. In one line, can you tell us what your film Holiday is about? It's about a Holiday. You see the film and decide what it's all about. It's unfair to ask a film maker to explain the core of his film in one sentence. I won't try doing it. But Holiday is a fun, light-hearted yet relevant film in which the music, composed by Ranjeet Barot, is brilliant. The music will release sometime soon. Then I shall give you a lot of details about the film! Who has conceptualized the entire film? Mahesh Bhatt writes my films. This is his idea. Are you not in the mood to talk? I am very much in the mood to talk! In a few days, the audience will see glimpses of the film on television. Then there will be more interesting questions about the film. At that time, I will be able to give you more details. It's too early to say anything more. Without the visuals, you will not be able to understand the feel of the film. Your niece Smiley was supposed to do a role but she was replaced. What made you decide that? She wasn't right for the role. She was signed by me but eventually no one is more important than the film. If I decide to direct a movie, and I feel I cannot deliver, the producer has every right to replace me. All the characters are unique. All characters' requirement, aspirations, dreams are all very different from each other. That is why I have a very eclectic group that has come together. When you see the movie, you will know why each of them have been cast. On the surface, it is difficult to understand who is playing which character. No one is competing with one another. Everyone is very important in the movie, whether they are there for two or four scenes. Why did you decide on Goa as the location for the film? Whenever, someone says the word 'holiday', 99% of the time, Goa comes to their mind. My house is in Goa. When I stay there or work there, and call people and tell them that I'm in Goa, they tell me 'Oh you're on holiday! What fun!' I have to tell them that I am working in Goa and it is not so much fun all the time. When you think of a holiday, you think of Goa. In most people's mind Goa equals to holiday. That is why we decided on Goa as the location. Did Dino go through a lot of training for the film, since he plays a dancer? I think if you plan and rehearse, you can do anything. It took time, but Dino was practiced with diligence. It's not like he did a lot of vigorous dancing. But every dancer has a certain body language and poise, which you need even in scenes where there is no dancing. That was more important for me, than the actual dancing. He's been able to get that completely. Seeing the frame, nobody will say that Dino is not a dancer. If that makes you inquisitive enough to know more about this Holiday package, wait till we get Pooja to speak more... |
