I think it is mostly a function of the age at which actresses marry. An actor can marry in his mid twenties and become a father without any adverse effects on his career. An actress usually must wait until her career is showing signs of winding down anyway when she's in her thirties. By this time, all the filmi men from her generation are usually taken, so either she must marry outside the filmi fraternity (like Madhuri), or she must settle for someone who has already gone through a marriage before, like all the examples cited above. In some rare cases (like Ash), she'll marry someone who is a bit younger than herself, and hence not previously married.
