Favorite playback singer (past or present)?

My favorite is probably going to judged as old-fashioned by the majority of this forum. I love Kishore Kumar, over and above evry other singer in Bollywood Ive listened to.

i don't have a favorite desi playback singer..i like some singers' voices but then once they start singing too many songs they get a bit repetitive...

Kishore Kumar was definitely one of the most versatile singers from Bollywood. But yes a lot of people get repetitive after a while - he was someone who managed to avoid that.

From the current lot I would say Shilpa Rao, Amit Trivedi, Kailash Kher, Shankar Mahadevan, Sukhvinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Rekha Bharadwaj. I prefer some of the more unconventional voices.
