Sanjay Gupta's ZINDA, which was slated for release on December 23, has been postponed by another three weeks. The film will now hit the screens on January 13, 2006. Reason for the postponement? FAMILY – TIES OF BLOOD. Apparently, the Mumbai distributors of both FAMILY – TIES OF BLOOD and ZINDA happen to be the same [Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd.], who were reluctant to release the two biggies on the same date: December 23. "That's true! We were indeed in a fix. Business-wise, it's doesn't make sense to release two big-budget films on the same date," Denis Selarka of Ashtavinayak confirms. He continues in the same breath, "Sanjay Gupta understood our predicament and we mutually arrived at a decision to release ZINDA on a latter date [January 13]." Incidentally, FAMILY – TIES OF BLOOD was scheduled for release on December 16 initially, but since BLUFFMASTER! has been confirmed for December 16 as well, the Big B decided against clashing with his son's film and shifted FAMILY – TIES OF BLOOD to December 23. |
