Mumbai: Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu seems to be upset these days and she has reason for that.

Reports says that actor was chucked out of Mani Ratnam's upcoming film 'Raavan'.

Earlier, the actress was offered to play the role of Abhishek Bachchan's wife 'Mandodari' in the film.

However, as per rumours in the industry, Bips is not doing the film anymore.

This all happened after Bips had her rehearsals, dress fitting and the allocation of 20 days of work in the film.

In the meantime, when reporters approached her and asked the reason for her role being scrapped.

The actress said, "I am sad... but it's better than having my role chopped or totally edited... when lot of effort had gone to work out the role for this guest character.
"
When the shooting for the movie had commenced, people were under the speculation that Aishwarya will be potraying the character of wife of Abhishek in the movie.

But surprisingly, she has been given the role of Devi Sita, whose husband Rama is being essayed by a Tamil actor, Vikram.

Mani Ratnam had been searching for an actress who would perfectly fit into the role of Mandodari.

His search ended with Bipasha signing the movie for the role of Raavan's wife.

A source from the industry says, "Bipasha immediately said yes to the role. She had agreed to do it a month ago.

Exact reason of 'Bips babes' walking out from the movie is not known yet.

The sources said that her role in the movie was quite strong and she was upset with the length of her role in the film.

That is an unfortunate turn of events. Vidya and Maddy were my favorite part of Guru, as short as their roles were, and probably cut a bit I am sure. But I think Bipasha would have been an interesting person for the role, and it stinks things have turned out this way.

I'm guessing this movie is the modern version of Ramayan, like Dev D was of Devdas. If thats the case, then they shouldn't call the movie, "Ravan"...coming up with something more innovative would be better.

When is it coming out anyways? I have been hearing about since ages.

You're right. Haha, I don't think anyone knows. Yeah, you are right about the point of the title.

All I know about this movie is that it was shot in the forests of Kerala, and that happened earlier this year, so I guess it should be wrapping up by now, or so one would think.

Forests of Kerela, I guess thats where they shot the scenes between Ravan and Sita. They still have to shoot the Mandodari parts, so I guess it has a while to go for the release. Wait. Heck, they actually have to look for a Mandodari first.😆

I think the shooting schedules kind of went hay wire after Mani Ratnam's heart attack. So some parts probably still need to be shot. I am not completely sure but isn't Govinda in the film too? I think he plays Hanuman.

I agree, I think they should change the title.

Govinda as Hanuman, thats so predictable. Why didnt they choose someone whom people would not expect to be Hanuman?
