If she has been replaced it's young talented heroines who have replaced her. Not just her, but all of her generation who are very talented.
Just like she replaced the talented Madhuri, Juhi and Sridevi. Madhuri had to marry someone from America to get someone young and successful, Sridevi got married to a married fat producer, and Juhi, I guess someone not from this industry - I don't know him.
There is Preity, Aish, Manisha, Urmila,Tabu and her. All talented and pretty women. Aish is luckily married to a good family and a good looking man. But, her career is also not going anywhere. She is looking older and not many people were previously excited about her performances anyway. Without looks she is basically not that important.
Manisha and Tabu - well I don't know what happened to these two talented actresses. One atleast had a namesake and Manisha , well she fell from grace with Ek Chotisi Love Story.
Urmila, I still have hopes for her. She is so talented. But, also beautiful and single.
So let's see both Rani and Preity are single, pretty and talented. And now producers want the young ones.
For talent, beauty and youth they have Priyanka and Kareena. For just beauty (even though I don't see it, but apparently people do) , there is Kat and many many many many more who can fill the looks void. In fact there are now taking many foreigners who dont speak the language. Because they can now mouth dialogues that they memorize in a dubbing studio like Kat does. And we are suckers for light skin/light eyes so why even have an Indian actress. Indian dancing is not needed anymore. Kathak days are also over.
Dialogue delivery and expression is gone out the window. Who needs that anymore? 😕
Anyway, yes this is a sad state of affairs. Not many indian men feel comfortable with a more talented and successful wife.
The actress who is gotten used to a certain life style will also not be willing to go with a man who is not as successful. There are very few Madhuri's out there who are willing to walk away with a guy who is less famous and is living in an absolutely different country.
I have a few suggestions for Rani, Urmila and Preity. Keep pride aside, find a good guy who is not disturbed by your success and does not have an ego. He does not have to be more successful than you. That might not happen.
TV is a good medium now. Look how famous AB, SRK and Salman got with those shows and it kept them in the audiences mind. Hmmm take movies which mantain your niche audience and be willing to take less or no pay for those movies. I mean if people like Tabu can't get a movie, well I am sorry that's the way the cookie crumbles.
There is limited longevity in Indian cinema for women. That's all I can say. Indian men and (suprisingly) WOMEN do not like seeing unattractive or older looking females.
Until that changes.... we will see many great actresses fall from the top.
