Kat never wanted to become an actor. she always said she wanted a job to support her family. That statement of hers in an interview that I didn't understand. If she wanted a job to support her family, she could've found other jobs to do that.

But atleast now she has passion to work hard in her movies.

And you guys are picking on kat for lying? lol I know other actors who lies about who they actually are in real life. Faking your identity and faking personality, it's the same to me.

My respect for Kat comes in from the fact that the girl is single handedly supporting her entire family. tha'ts why, I dont really care what kinda work she did earlier.

The point is, she is very succesful today, and yes she had a lot of luck and connections on her side, but she's hard workign as well.
Wish she hadnt lied though. But I guess it was a presumption that she wouldnt be able to be accepted in bollywood if she wasnt indian.

So if it helps you professionally then it is alright to lie or "pretend to be something you are not". If its ok for Kat then why call others fake or liars. At least there should be some consistency no?

Everyone has the passion to work had in the film industry as everyone wants to succeed but it's so silly to lie about your identity.

There should never be an excuse for doing a disrespectful job as there are many jobs out there in the world in which a person can do, it all depends on how expensive a person's wants and needs are.

All I'm saying is Faking identity and Faking personality are the same to me. There are some celebs who have fake personality so isn't it the same that they are lying to the people??? I feel sorry for their fans

It's not the same!

Faking an identity is an insult to the person's parents and ancestors.

Faking a personality is an insult to that person and only that person.

lol

This is a totally different case. This isnt lying about your boyfriend, or what your real age is. 😆

Put it this way. Im not an Ash fan, but her example can be mentioned. Did she have to lie about her identity to star in a few hollywood films, even though they didnt do good business - did she lie to showcase herself in hollywood movies? No.

Do Pakistani actors like Meera - who came in one or two Mahesh Bhatt films I believe (not sure) say shes originally form India, to get a role in bollywood? Her films flopped horribly, but she didnt turn Indian in a single day to gain anything.

Did Ash suddenly say "My dad is an American by birth!" or did Meera say "Im a Gujarati, Indian by birth." I dont think so.

Likewise, there are several examples of artists being who they are, rather than who they arent when they step into another industry/workplace. I would feel ashamed if I lied about my real identity just to make it big as lets say - a model/singer. Somewhere down the line, it would just make me seem desperate. Be who you are, and no matter what - at the end of the day you'll at least be appreciated for your efforts. Better than, hearing, "oh my god, you're not even the person who you claim to be!"

Just my thought. 😊
