actually one of the people Imtiaz considered casting was Mahie Gill of Dev D fame. Before he decided to cast better known actors. Mahie Gill as Geet would have been quite interesting. She is so talented.

He also almost cast Ayesha Takia and Bobby Deol when the film was called Geet. But I think it went through some script changes after that/

Even somtimes without any chemistry the movie is a super duper hit and we have seen so many times that either a hero is new or the heroin is new even then they click, like who could forget Ek Duje Ke Liye, Bobby, Ram Teri Ganga maili, RNBJ, Hey Baby, bhulbulaiya and many more !! As said jodis and chemistry does not always work may be sometimes but not always !! So many hit jodis have given flop movies !! it the script, screenplay, story and great dialouges and once upon a time the songs and off the acting of both hero/heroin play great part in making of a good movie !!

though of course,itz the characters witch matter n nt the actors..but well,i liked shahid-kareena a lot in fida..,china town was hardly a movie to show chemistry,n so was chup -chup ke...where as jwm was full on romantic,with a powerful characterisation..which brought our shahid-kareena's jodi frm ashes....:)

i wish they do a movie 2gether..but i know itisnt possible..:(
