Shahid and Kareena always looked odd together until JWM happened. And we must credit the styling given to both stars (kareena's minimal make up look made her look younger while shahid was given a more mature look), as well as Imtiaz's screenplay. I'm serous, that man can extract chemistry from a tree and a picket fence if he wants to, lol!

Abhay Ayesha had amazing chemistry, Shahid Kareena had amazing chemistry, and Saif Deepika had amazing chemistry (especially taht last scene of LAK when she's smacking him and he takes her and hugs her). Its all in the screenplay mates.

The screenplay is the biggest reason for chemistry. I mean ahem 36 chinatown anyone?

Well i agree with the fact that bolly chemistries are not made in heaven and behind the scenes people have a lot to do wid them.. but still when writers create characters they have a certain type of image in their head and actors have to match tat image.. for example i dont think vidya balan would have been able to play geet from Jwm the way imtiaz wanted tat role to be.. kareena was the perfect choice.. or maybe some other actress who haz the same persona..As far as rating PC and Shahid and kareena and Shahid is concerned.. i think Shahid and Kareena had a better chance to emerge as a successful long lasting onscreen couple in bolly.. first because JWM was taylor made for romance and it is a couple's movie.. its a romantic movie.. and if any couple would have done it then they would have created a great brand for themselves.. just like how ddlj created the brand srk and kajol... as far as kaminey is concerned its not a romantic movie.. so it did not help in establishing shahid kareena as a pair... I think Shahid and Kareena could have easily used the brand that they created in JWM and propelled it forward by working in more movies together... Films like DDLJ.. kuch kuch.. and even JWM get the success and cult status wid much luck and chance.. and not everyday do we get movies like these.. somethings just happen.. and I think history would remember JWM as a beautiful movie.. and characters of geet and adi would be forever etched in viewers minds.. kaminey would not be remembered as a guddu and sweety love story because..love story is not the primary part of the movie.. it would be remembered more for its individualistic performces.

I guess I don't really like the brand idea for couples. For me it will always be about the characters and not the actors playing them.

I agree with you Desi and Geet. Shahid-Kareena didn't used to have chemistry together even though they did many movies before. But it was JWM that showed an amazing chemistry between them, it all has to do with the script, screenplay and everything else to make it work. And of course amazing acting as well.

I'll go with PC since Shahid looks calm, confident and free.

Basically the long and tedious essay that i have written haz this gyst tat Shahid and Kareena have the edge of starring in a love story and that is why i love their pairing more that Pri and Shahid who have starred in a thriller..

I'll go with Geet, that its about characters. For me, chemistry comes out in the form of characters and screenplay.
