Mumbai: The endless impersonations and fake profiles on social networking sites have finally made Shahid Kapur realise that he needs to do something to 'connect'. Sources close to the actor confirmed that he recently had a meeting with them on how he can make his website better than his 'competitors'.
"Shahid was reluctant about networking and having his website up on the net because he felt that it would get too personal. But there are also ways of doing it without making it personal. In fact, all the social networking sites and blogs are filled with Shahid Kapur fakes. So, we told him that he needs an authentic website on himself to prevent fake profiles on the website," says a close friend of the actor.
Shahid also confirmed that his website is being planned but refused to go into details. Sources also revealed that Shahid has unwittingly agreed to blog and tweet on his website to meet with his 'fan's demands'.
Shahid is too perturbed with the incessant link-ups with his co-stars which he has told his friends that is a publicity gimmick."The link-up with Priyanka (Chopra) will die down two weeks after the release of Kaminey and now that he is shooting with Anushka (Sharma) for a Yashraj film, he will be linked with her for the publicity of the film. The problem is Shahid has to keep quiet about it and keep on denying those allegations because he knows why it is being done. That is exactly why he has specifically instructed us to make the website in such a way that will give out the real him than a serial lover boy," the source added.
Shahid is currently playing with Twitter to figure out how it works. "Twitter has officially handed over his profile to him after it was found that somebody had created a fake id. He is now trying to figure out how it works but is not too keen on coming on it right now."
